"Please mommy" Bethany begged.

I took her to a pet store and she immediately went to the puppies.

"Fine, babygirl" I said.

She pointed at this gray furry dog.

"Are you sure" I asked her making her quickly nod her head.

"Alright baby" I said.

I picked up the puppy and walked over to a worker.

Beth followed behind me.

"How much for this dog" I asked the worker.

"$200" she replied.

"I'll be happy to take her home then" I said smiling when the puppy licked my hand.

I paid for the puppy with food and supplies for it.

"It's a female" the worker told me.

"Thank you for letting me know" I said before Bethany took the puppy from me.

"Let's name her Gracie mommy" she told me.

"Okay babygirl" I said grabbing the bag of supplies and food.

"Have a nice day" I told the worker before walking out of the store with Beth and Gracie.

"Let's go home baby" I said.

"Can I show Gracie to daddy" Bethany asked me.

"Sure babygirl" I said.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket to call Jeff.

"Hello" he answered.

I connected him to my car speakers.

"Hey Jeffery" I said.

"Hey Meg" he replied with a chuckle.

"Daddy I have a surprise to show you" Bethany yelled.

"Is that so, sweetie" he asked.

"Yes" she said with a giggle.

"I'll be over there soon, babygirl" he told her before we said our goodbyes and ended the call.

"Why do you and daddy not live together, mommy" Beth asked with a sad look.

"Well babygirl, sometimes mommies and daddies can't live together but I'm sure as soon as they start to love each other again they will and make their sweetheart of a child very happy" I said.

"Okay mommy" she said starting to play with Gracie.

A few minutes later we got into my apartment and I fixed lunch for me and Bethany after feeding Gracie her food.

When I finally sat down to eat there was a knock on my door.

I opened the door to let Jeff in.

"Daddy" Beth yelled running up to Jeff to give him a hug.

"Hi sweetheart" he said picking her up.

"Daddy come meet Gracie" she said before she jumped down from her dad's arms to lead over to Gracie who was asleep in her new doggy bed.

"Huh you finally got your mommy to get you a dog" he said jokingly.

"Oh haha I don't see you owning any dogs" I replied.

"Touché."
