Something great

Harry needed to blow off some steam and went out clubbing with Joe Jonas the next evening. He hadn't been out partying by himself since he and Louis got back together and Louis assured him that it was okay. He didn't feel the need to escape anymore. He and Louis were good and they tried to ignore Modest bullshit as much as possible. Nevertheless, he had a fun night out with Joe, and afterward, he went back to Louis and they made love for the rest of the night.

He hadn't forgotten his promise to write a song for Louis. It wasn't like he hadn't already done that. Everything he wrote leads back to Louis. But he wanted to write something less sad this time, if he could. That was kind of his thing.

He always had a notebook with him and wrote as soon as he had a quiet moment to himself. He never knew when inspiration would hit him. He could wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and look over to a sleeping Louis and then a line or two came to him.

Two weeks, and many shows later he was done. He picked up his guitar one evening when they were at a hotel room just the two of them.
"I wrote you something." He said softly.

Louis broke out in a happy smile.
"Yeah? You didn't have to do that Haz. Can I hear it?"

"That's what the guitar is for." Harry winked.

Louis came and sat down next to him and Harry started to play a soft melody and then he sang the lyrics.

One day you'll come into my world and say it all
You say we'll be together even when you're lost
One day you'll say these words
I thought you'll never say
You say we're better off together in our bed

I want you here with me
Like how I pictured it
So I don't have to keep imagining

Come on, jump out at me
Come on, bring everything
Is it too much to ask for something great?

The script was written and I could not change a thing
I want to rip it all to shreds and start again
One day I'll come into your world and get it right
I'll say we're better off together here tonight

I want you here with me
Like how I pictured it
So I don't have to keep imagining

Come on, jump out at me
Come on, bring everything
Is it too much to ask for something great?

I want you here with me
Like how I pictured it
So I don't have to keep imagining

Come on, jump out at me
Come on, bring everything
Is it too much to ask for something great?

I want you here with me
Like how I pictured it
Is it too much to ask for something great?

You're all I want
So much it's hurting
You're all I want
So much it's hurting

Louis' eyes were glossy and he had to clear his voice before he could speak.
"Thank you, Harry. Beautiful."

Harry put the guitar down and smiled.
"I'm glad you liked it."

"Loved it." Louis corrected him.

Eleanor showed up two days later and Louis was requested to take her out shopping in Montreal so they could get papped. Unfortunately, they got mobbed as well but their bodyguard managed to divert it. Louis decided to not tell Harry about it. He had stayed in New York for an extra day to meet up with some friends. He would just freak out.

They played a show in Montreal the next day. Eleanor was already on a plane, going back to England. Louis told Harry about the mob and assured him that he was fine. This was one of the downsides of being in a famous band.

They played two shows in Pennsylvania after that and then they celebrated Ashton's birthday at a bowling alley. Harry had caught a cold and felt under the weather. Louis took care of him, pampering him but Harry was still sick during their next show but he made it through the concert and he got better.

They went out to celebrate Josh's birthday after a show in Toronto. The next day Harry surprised Louis with a cake. It had candles and everything.
"What's this for?" Louis asked surprised.

"Today is our third anniversary since we both auditioned for the X-factor." Harry grinned.

"You're so nostalgic, love." Louis smiled.

"Well, yeah. It was a big day. It lead us here and we wouldn't have known each other otherwise." Harry said with a pout.

"I know, it's a big day for me too." Louis promised.

"Blow out the candles then." Harry grinned.

Louis rolled his eyes at him but complied. He had a mischievous glint in his eyes. He grabbed a big chunk of the cake with his hand and held it up to Harry's mouth to feed him. Harry laughed but opened his mouth and took a bite. They continued to feed each other cake which leads to a cake fight and they both laughed happily. When there was no more cake they looked around at the mess they had made.
"Oh man, we have to tip the cleaning crew well. Look at this." Harry said.

"We can at least remove the bedlinen ourselves and write a very apologetic note." Louis suggested.

They had the next day off and Niall took Harry golfing. He had tried really hard to make them all interested in the sport but Harry was the only one who actually enjoyed it. Later that evening they were surprised by a visit from Harry Magee, the head of Modest. He talked promotion for their next album and then he requested a meeting with Harry and Louis alone. They hated these meetings. Nothing good ever came out of them.
"So boys, you've been behaving lately." He started off and Louis snorted.

Mr. Magee continued.
"I just wanted to inform you that you Harry have a couple of dates in front of you."

Harry sighed unhappily.
"With who?"

"Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer in Pussycat dolls." Mr. Magee said, looking pleased.

Harry stared at him in disbelief but it was Louis that protested.
"Oh, come on! She's like 40!"

"35, and you shouldn't talk about a women's age. That's not polite." Mr. Magee smirked.

"I'm nineteen! That's a huge age difference." Harry said.

"She's a beautiful woman. Age doesn't matter." Mr. Magee answered.

"Not when you trying to make him look like a womanizer. What's next? You're gonna make him date your grandma?" Louis growled.

"I might just do that if you don't shut your mouth. Watch your tone young man." Mr. Magee responded and glared angrily at Louis.

Harry just wanted to cry.
