Backstory: Your parents kicked you out of the house as you couldn't find a job nor a husband - they thought you were a waste of space and you became homeless. Until one day a man offered you a job as a thief, he didn't pay you much but it was enough to get you by somewhere to sleep.

You were running through the streets of Paris, trying to get through the dense crowd of people. You had just stolen a purse from a woman and she was calling the guards to come after you.

You were pushing people out of the way trying to find a way out of this crowd. You could hear the footsteps of the guards running after you shouting at you to stop. The wind brushing past your face but mostly the amount of people that you were trying to get past.

Eventually you found a way out and you took a few sharp turns trying to lose them. You ran out of breath so you entered a random house to hide just in case they were still after you. You leaned against the wall trying to calm down and catching your breath hoping that no one was in the house. You didn't need another set of guards running after you.

But to your luck you heard voices and you closed your eyes and sighed in disappointment. You couldn't help but eavesdrop on what they were saying. You could hear two men speaking to each other. It wasn't casual like a night out with your friends but they were speaking quietly as if they were hiding something, which just made you more interested.

You shuffled closer to the edge of the wall and slightly poked your head out to see what they looked like. You only looked for a split second but from what you could see there was a man with a hood on and another man with similar clothes to him. Who could they be? You decided to be more cautious as you didn't know how dangerous they are.

As you were trying to hear more of the conversation you couldn't help but notice an expensive-looking pocket watch just opposite you. You just could imagine how much more you would get paid if you were to show this to your boss. He pays you by the quality of items you steal, but you never seem to really find something good until now.

You couldn't just let this opportunity slip away, so you leaned forward and took a step to grab the watch, you were being reckless as you didn't care about the men anymore, forgetting that you were in their line of sight. One of them saw you and yelled at you to stop. Great. You have someone tailing you again.

You ran out of the house and a man with the blue cloak on with a hood starting running after you. "Give it back!" he shouted. You did feel a bit bad but this was for your own sake. Your tired legs were trying as hard as they could to run fast but it only caused you pain. You bumped into several people causing you to slow down a bit and the man running after you was fast.

This time, you thought of going into the crowd, hoping of losing yourself in there so he couldn't find you. Thankfully there was one not far away from you and you decided to go to that one. You pushed through several people out of the way so you could get into the main part of the crowd where most people were.

You looked back trying to see the man, but he just stopped and tried to scan the crowd to see you. Apart from trying to hide from him, you decided to head straight to your boss and give him the pocket watch.

*Time skip to the next day*

You were walking down the streets of Paris, so far it was a good day. There weren't any guards chasing you around and you were walking with a pocket full of money. But for the first time it wasn't stolen - it was earned.

That pocket watch you stole yesterday practically saved your life. You now had enough money to buy a decent house at the very least.

Usually while walking in Paris you would hear the protests and see burning flags in a distance but today was more calm. It was as if this day was set out just for you.

Just as you were about to enter a shop you could feel a strong grip on your arm. You turned around to see who it was and it was the same man from yesterday who you stole the pocket watch from.

He dragged you to a nearby alleyway while you tried to get rid of his hand on your arm. he held you against the wall by the shoulders so you wouldn't run away. This wasn't your first time being confronted by a person you stole from and you hoped it wasn't your last.

"Tell me where the watch is," he said to you bluntly but with a hint of aggression in his voice. His hood was covering the top half of his face so you couldn't see what he looked like which scared you even more.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about," You said back to him. You tried acting tough but you were very frightened of him. You had no idea what he could do to you and you tried getting the thought of death out of your mind.

"Don't play dumb with me. Tell me where it is and I won't hurt you," he said in a serious voice. "I don't have it with me right now, please I'm telling the truth," you begged him to believe you, hoping to survive. But you weren't lying, you didn't have it with you; your boss did.

The man went through your pockets and he didn't find anything. "Then who has it," You didn't say anything. If your boss found out that you baited him out he would fire or even kill you.

His grip on your shoulders got tighter with the passive answers you gave him. You just didn't want to die. "I'm going to ask you one last time," He started, "Who has-," "My boss," You said quickly cutting him off.

The man didn't want to harm you. He could tell that you were scared so he slowly took his hood off to show you that he didn't mean any harm. As he took his hood off you were in awe of what you saw. He was the most beautiful man you have ever seen. His brown hair was tied back in a low ponytail with a few lose strands resting on the side of his face which shaped his jawline.

After a while off staring at him you snapped out of your thoughts, realising he just asked you a question that you didn't hear. "What?" You asked him. "Where is your boss?" "He's about three roads away from here, in a big house. But it's with him, it's in his drawer in his office," You had no idea why you just told him that.

"Thank you," The man replied back, he took his hands off your shoulders and he was about to walk away from you. "But you need a key to open the drawer, I know where it is," You said back to him. You were surprised by what you were saying. There was just something about him that you couldn't resist. You just naturally told him everything.

"Is there any chance you could take me there?" He asked you. "I could but my boss would kill me if he finds out I'm working against him,"
"Not if you're with me." You tried to think about what you were about to do. Should you agree to go with the man and take back his watch or just leave him to it?

"Fine, I'll come. But if anything happens to me..." You trailed of, not knowing what to say. "You have my word, you will be fine." He replied back to you. You decided to trust the man, hoping that you won't regret it. "I'm Arno Dorian," "Y/N"

You and Arno started to walk to your bosses house. "Why are you so determined just to find a watch? You could just buy another one." You stated which you thought was the obvious solution. "That watch was my fathers who got killed when I was young. It's the only thing I have left of him," A sudden wave of guilt rushed through you. You felt extremely bad, knowing how important the watch was to him. Now you know why he wanted it back so much. "I'm sorry... I-I didn't know," You said regretting bringing it up. "Don't worry about it," he replied.
