In the morning, Mia had an appointment at S.H.I.E.L.D. academy. Well, the Sci-tech department of it. She needed to speak with agent Weaver about what had happened and it gave the perfect opportunity to interact with Coulson’s team again, since they’re going to be there as well.

Mia got the call that an indoor pool was completely frozen and one cadet was trapped for a second. He got out but was pretty shaken about it.

Maria Hill had dropped her off and Mia walked into the big hall with the memorial plaques. She saw agent Ward and Skye standing before it so, she walked towards them and heard their conversation.

“Bucky Barnes.” Skye traced the name with her finger and chuckled.

“Puts it in perspective what we do.” Ward told her.

“Must make you guys proud.” Skye looked at all the names. “All this history. Just wish I was a part of it.” When she saw Ward’s face she quickly explained herself. “It's not self-pity, really. I’m saying, everyone here has earned it. They deserved it. I hacked my way in. Feels like I cheated.”

Ward walked up to her and said, “All you need to join is a dedication for the greater good. Coulson saw that the moment he met you.”

“ And I see it too.” Mia spoke up and the two team members turned around at the sound of her voice.

“Agent Jarvis.” Ward nodded and Mia returned it. Skye gave her a hug before stepping back. “What are you doing here? Aren't you occupied with the Avengers?” Ward asked.

“They can handle themselves. Although, they might have a hungover today.” Mia chuckled and she received confused looks. “We had a party last night. I'm officially forty.” She explained.

“Happy birthday.” Skye gave another hug which Mia returned.

“As for why I'm here, the same reason as you: Weaver called. She said something about a frozen pool?”

“Let's go then.” Ward started walking.

“How is it for an Op to be in Sci-tech?” Mia asked him. She knew Ward had spend his time at the Special Operations department of the academy and, other than the Communications department, no other department interacted with each other.

“It's weird.” Ward chimed and Mia laughed.

“He's not having a fun time.” She told Skye. “By the way, I heard your conversation. You didn't cheat by hacking. I hacked my way in too.”

“No way.” Skye exclaimed and Mia nodded. “How?”

“Well, much like you, I worked for the Rising Tide. I started hacking into S.H.I.E.L.D. to find out more about an accident involving my family and Coulson picked me up. I haven't given up yet and the tips keep coming. I gave all my Rising Tide equipment to a guy I helped and he proceeded. Until, last year. S.H.I.E.L.D. is supervising him with a bracelet now.” Mia explained.

“No way. You knew Miles?” Skye was shocked.

“Yeah, I taught him everything I knew.” Mia saw why Skye was that shocked. She was the ex-girlfriend of Miles Lydon and he thought her everything he knew.

“Can we hurry up, please?” Ward cut in and they entered the lecture hall where Fitz-Simmons were speaking. They quickly took a seat and listened to the two scientist talking.

“It's nice to be back.” Simmons began. “Unfortunately, it had be under these circumstances.”

“If you don’t know the history of S.H.I.E.L.D. by know, there's no excuse.” Fitz continued. “Unless you fell asleep in professor Vaughn's class – that’s a perfectly acceptable excuse.”
