Harry's POV
"What do you mean Zayn's leaving?!" I said surprised.
"You know what? Let's just go ask ourselves." Niall said and I nodded.
"Much better. Khushi?" I called out.
"You guys go ahead. I'll go back to the hotel. This is something you 5 best friends should deal with first." She said and I smiled at her.
"Thank you for understanding."
Khushi's POV
As I got out the cab, I searched my purse for the key card to our apartment.
I'll keep it safe and sound right here in my pocket.
And there I go regretting giving the key card to Harry. And then not taking it back.
Might as well ask the receptionist.
"Hey I actually lost my key card. Can I get a replacement?" I asked and the receptionist nodded.
"Which room number, ma'am?" She asked.
"312."
"Sorry ma'am. I can't give the keys to anyone expect Mr. Styles." She said.
"I'm his fiance. So you can give it to me yeah?" I said.
"Listen, ma'am. I don't how you found out about his apartment details but I can't just let anyone in." She said scrunching her eyebrows.
"I'm not just anyone. I'm his fiance." I said trying to stay calm.
"Yeah and I'm his personal secretary." She said rolling her eyes.
I immediately took my phone out and showed her the picture from our engagement.
"You have good photoshopping skills, I have to admit. But I'm not falling for it, young lady." She said which made you more frustrated.
"Lady, listen. Call anyone you want. Call their manager, their crew, his bandmates or even Harry just to confirm. Just believe me." I said trying to still stay calm. She just rolled her eyes yet again.
I was about to call Harry and then I remembered he might be with Zayn.
Whom do I call?
I immediately dialed El's number.
"Heyy Khushi! How's everything?" El asked cheerfully.
"Okay can you come on facetime real quick?" I asked.
"Yeah all okay?" She asked worriedly.
"Yeah it's just there is this new receptionist in the hotel we're staying at so she's not believing the fact that I'm Harry's fiance. So thought maybe you could come on facetime and just freaking tell her." I said and she cut the call before she called me again on facetime.
After El talked to the receptionist, she finally got convinced and gave me the spare key.
"About time." I said taking the card from her.
I played some music as soon as I got inside.
Maybe I can surprise him with his favorite dish by the time he comes home.
I smiled at the thought and put my apron on.
And soon enough, the doorbell rang. Washing my hands, I immediately went to open the door to find a gloomy Harry.
"All okay?" I asked. He just sighed and got inside. I filled up a glass of water and gave it to him who is now sitting on the couch.
"What happened?" I asked sitting next to him.
"He's really leaving." He said and my heart just stopped for a second.
"Really? He really isn't okay?" I asked and he shook his head.
"His anxiety has gotten much worse actually. He doesn't eat much anymore, he's not the same Zayn you know? We tried our best to make him feel alright atleast with us but guess that also didn't work." He said not making any kind of eye contact.
"Everything is going to be alright." I said not knowing what else to say to comfort him.
"No, Khushi. I really doubt at this point. Just imagine. One direction without Zayn. One Direction as a four. We grew up with him throughout these years." He said placing his head on my shoulders.
I felt a small wetness on my shirt and I looked at him to find him trying to hold his tears back.
"Heyy hey hey there." I said cupping his face with my hands.
"You'll find a way through this. All of you. Even Zayn. I'm actually proud of him for choosing his mental health over anything right now. He needs a time off and you guys will find a way to work this out. Everything happens for a reason." I said looking at him.
He didn't say anything. He just nodded.
"I love you and whatever it is, I'm here with you. Okay?" I assured him and he let out a small smile.
"I'm cooking something for- Oh shit!" I said immediately getting up and running to the kitchen.
And there goes my hardwork.
"All gone?" He said standing by the door.
"Man I wanted to surprise you with lasagne. I couldn't even start on the baking area before it all burnt now." I said disappointed.
"Wow guess we both have a bad day today." He said lightly chuckling.
"You know what? I'll run a bath for you so by the time you relax, I'll just cook something else." I sighed.
"You know what?" He said hugging me from behind.
"What do you say about taking a warm bath together, then ordering some food and we can like watch some Netflix and then maayybbeee...." He trailed off and I blushed.
"Never in your dreams, Styles." I said wiggling out of his grip and immediately running from him.
"I'm not leaving you like that." He said before we both turned into the literal versions of Tom and Jerry.
"Caught you." He said cornering me to the wall. My heart beat picked up while he closed in the distance between us.
"You're impossible, Ms. Nandini Pandit." He said placing his lips on mine. His kisses slowly went down to my neck. I let out a small moan and I felt him smile.
"Wait, Harry." I said breathless.
"What happened?" He asked worriedly. I felt stupid at that point but I had to tell this.
"I'm not ready." I said not making any kind of eye contact.
"Oh that's okay. We have plenty of time with us." He said smiling before he kissed my forehead.
"I'm so sorry." I said letting out a tear.
"Hey you don't need to cry. I'm just glad you told me this you know? We can go at whatever pace you want. I don't ever want to make you feel uncomfortable." He said wiping my tears with his thumb.
I just hugged him without saying a word. And at that moment, it felt safe.
I'm safe with him around.
