Caerwyn stretched from where she lay in the soft bed. She already knew that Thranduil was long gone, his side of the bed cold. He was always up early to get in training before he had to attend to his kingly duties.

Caerwyn rolled over in the bed looking upon the small stone cottage that Thranduil and herself had taken up permenant residence in, following Legolas's birth two months ago.

Caerwyn smiled softly at the small tree sitting in the corner. The memory of Thranduil dragging in the tree, grinning from ear to ear like a small child played in her mind.

The blankets were so warm, she thought about just turning over and going back to sleep. But for a small whine in the direction of Legolas's crib. The little prince was now awake too.

Caerwyn threw back the covers, shivering slightly as her feet hit the cold floor. Silently she tread over to the crib.
Staring down a Legolas, Caerwyn couldn't help but smile as he gave her a little toothless grin. His blonde sticking up in every direction.

Reaching down to pick him up she smoothed down his hair. "I do hope that when your hair grows out, you have your Ada's hair not mine. "

"And what ever is wrong with your hair, Starlight?" Thranduil's deep voice spoke from the cottage entryway

"It's so wavy, and unruly. So much unlike your straight perfect hair."

Thranduil chuckled as Caerwyn sat to give the Prince his breakfast. He suckled happily making loud slurping noises.

Thranduil ran a gentle hand over his son's head ,"Well, I could care less what our son's hair turns out like. He is perfect in my sight just like his mother."
Thranduil leaned in placing a gentle kiss on the top of Caerwyn's head.

She smiled up at him, love shinning in her eyes.
Then a thought occurred to her. "What are you doing here Thranduil, usually you are busy running the kingdom till dinner time."

Thranduil smiled down at his wife. "Did you forget that today is Yuletide? Even King's get holidays. Especially when it is their son's first Yuletide."

Caerwyn's eyes flicked to the presents wrapped under the tree. A smile playing on her lips. "I hadn't forgotten, I just didn't think you got the day off."

Thranduil laughed." Am I not king? Can I not decide when to work and when to rest?"

Caerwyn laughed and wiped Legolas's tiny face as he finished his breakfast. She handed him over to Thranduil, "Well then , My King you can change his Highnesses diaper and I'll make us some breakfast."

Thranduil's nose wrinkled. Caerwyn laughed and turned to build up the fire in the iron stove that took up one corner of the cottage.
"You know, Beloved, you will have to get used to changing diapers, Legolas will be in them for quite some time and then when we have more children."

Thranduil stopped his task to stare at Caerwyn. "You want more children?"

"You don't?" Caerwyn asked crestfallen.

Thranduil finished changing Legolas's diaper and laid him back in his crib. Walking up behind Caerwyn where she worked on making pancakes (the only food she was really good at making.)
Thranduil wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on the top of her head.
"You misunderstood me, Starlight. I was simply surprised you wanted more children after the ordeal you went through carrying and delivering Legolas."

Caerwyn flipped the last pancake on to a plate and turned towards Thranduil, allowing his arms to fully encompass her, she rested her head against his chest, listening to the steady thrum of his heart.
"That was nothing compared to the joy of finally holding Legolas in my arms. Knowing that our love brought such a beautiful child into the world. "

Caerwyn snuggled her head against Thranduil's shoulder. "I want to spend my eternity with you and build a family with you. To fill this cottage  with love and laughter. "

Thranduil kissed the top of Caerwyn's head. "Then I will strive to fulfill your Yuletide wish my Queen."
