Almost 40 years since the Guardians defeated Pitch, almost 40 years of Peace...Until the Boogieman is spotted again and this time, a different child ends up caught in the middle. They all rush to protect ger, only to find out that she has a protector of her own. Brie has been an unknown spirit for almost 100 years but unlike others, she remembers her past. Her actions and powers quickly drew the attention of not only Jack Front but also Pitch black...just when another war is about to start.

Pitch Black has failed as he was cast back to the shadows of fear and despair. Now, alone and with powers weakened, Pitch has perhaps found a different way to ascend to power. Preying on children was where he went wrong. Children are protected by the Guardians. No matter the plan, it would be foiled so long as Pitch targeted the young. But what if a child has reached outside of the realm of their protection? What if a child were to age out of the mystical belief of those heroes? Pitch has found that feasting on the fear of pubescent teens is a much more potent fountain of fear. And there wouldn't be anything the guardians or that pesky Man in Moon could do about it.

May knows who she is. And who she was. What she does not know is what she's supposed to be doing. So when May and her friend, Jack Frost, are recruited by the Guardians to help protect the children of the world from the Bogeyman, May has hope she'll uncover her true purpose. When I was younger, my father told me stories of the adventure he had with Santa, Tooth Fairy, Sandman, Easter Bunny and Jack Frost. He said they had stopped the Boogie Man from spreading fear throughout the world. And I believed him. I believed in the Guardians and the magic such figures provided to a young child. I suppose that as I grew older the magic faded, as expected. I lost interest in the stories as I came to realise that I was no longer a child. I need to be an adult for the sake of my family. My sister Ciara needed caring for, dad was always busy, mum had left when I was ten and Ciara was a baby. I had always thought she had left because dad kept trying to push the story of the Guardians on me as fact and not fiction when I stopped believing in Jack Frost. As a sixteen year old, I find myself losing my ability to believe, not just in the Guardians, but in myself. I need to find out who I am and what I’m supposed to do, or I’ll become a single blade of grass in a field of normal society, never to experience anything.
