Moana and Maui have always felt something for eachother however they both ignored it knowing that it could never happen. However what happens Moana starts to miss the ocean and being alone among the waves and leaves Motunui for a bit of space before she has to return to take her rightful place as chief and marry her betrothed? What happens when while she's on the ocean blue she sees Maui in his hawk form faltering against the wind and fall into the ocean? As she retrieves him from the water they start a whole knew journey to see Te Fiti and get answers? What happens when there feelings for eachother start to resurface? Will they be able to keep there feelings hidden so Moana can return to her island and follower her duties, or will she throw all of it away for love? If she does return to the island will Maui be able to stop her in time to save them both, or will he be to late and lose her forever? Read We Should Be to find out. Lana Mele Waialiki is the younger sister of Moana Waialiki. They both live on the island of Motunui, and are both destined to become their tribe's future chief. Moana, being the oldest, is meant to be chief before Lana. The two sisters don't want to be a chief though, they want to go out and explore the ocean. They both grew sick of the small lagoon a while ago. Ever since they were children, they've been trying to sail out to the ocean beyond the lagoon, always getting caught. So instead, they spent their days listening to mythical stories told by Grandma Tala, and learning about what a chief does. But something changes their fates. Something is happening to their island, that has happened to many others before them. Lana, Moana, and their animal friends set off on a journey across the ocean to fulfill their destinies. Lana though, isn't sure about this, for she has a big secret and it's been weighing her down for a long time. -This will follow the plot line of Moana the disney movie. if you haven't seen it yet, don't read this book and go see it it's really good.
