Blaise's jaw clenched at my words. Friends. He took another step forward closing the distance between us with quiet, deliberate purpose. "Friends?" he repeated, voice dangerously soft. "Is that what you want?" His dark eyes locked onto mine, unrelenting. "Because friends don't kiss like we did. Friends don't stay up talking until dawn. Friends don't..." He paused, almost struggling for a second like he was fighting himself just to say it. "...Look at each other the way we do." A beat of silence stretched between us in the torch lit hallway.
