A retelling of the Anastasia musical... One December night in the year 1917, within Czar Nicholas The Second's imperial palace in Petersburg, a grand extravagant ball is being held in honor of the family's rule over Russia, all are enjoying the festivities and graceful dances, yet the second youngest child of the Czar, Anastasia, expresses more interest in conversing with her Grandmother, before the old woman leaves for Paris. When she and her dear Grandmama escape from the ball, the young girl is given a music box to remember her Grandmother. After singing their familiar lullaby Anastasia falls asleep to the tune, the old woman promises that they will be together in Paris someday before departing. Meanwhile, a young poor boy named Gleb is running throughout the streets of Petersburg to save his mother from starving to death, outside the palace walls, all of Russia's common man are starving to death because of the Czar's mistreatment of them, the Czar does not care for those below him. The boy is the son of a Bolshevik officer, a political party on its way to kill the Czar this very night, when he arrives home his mother finally succumbs to starvation leaving him with everlasting hatred for the Czar and in his anguish rushes off to the Romanov palace, to watch the murder to take place. Once the party disperses, the Bolshevik charge in and round up the Romanov family, but one is missing, Anastasia. A servant boy by the name of Dmitry helps her escape, but from a fall she loses her memory and the two get separated. Ten years pass and the Bolsheviks now control Russia... rumors spread of Anastasia's all throughout Petersburg her fate is unknown, Gleb is now a deputy of the Bolsheviks and Dmitry is a con, when they both the paths of a young woman who seems all to familiar, what will become of the past and future?
