Life isn't fair. You don't have to serve me up that little platitude with a side of fries and a flat soda. I had a great career and a bright future ahead of me but unfortunately nothing lasts forever. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea to send my boss' dic pics to the entire company directory as I was being escorted out of the building carrying the remains of my professional life inside a cardboard box that the copier paper came in. I didn't expect for people to share it online and I sure as hell didn't expect it to go so viral that I'd been forced to move home with my parents after not being able to get another job in my field. If you had asked me where I saw myself in ten years, I surely wouldn't tell you that I'd be working the night shift at Harvey's with a perpetually moody girl, a moonlighting teacher, and a crazy boss that makes Peter Pan look like a responsible adult. One day, I can put all of this behind me and go back to my old life... Why is it that I'm not really sure I want to?
