Jack has loathed coyotes ever since they killed his sister Lola two years ago. Given the fact that they're his only connection to her as they were her favorite animal, he's torn. Tormented by their nightly yip-howls as severe depression plagues him daily, he trudges through life with an apathetic gaze and an icy heart that blocks anyone from delving too deep. He's pushed away his friends and family. Almost everyone has given up on him. It's on a particular night in the woods that Jack meets his polar opposite. Silvio is a captivatingly effervescent young man who counters Jack's gloomy pessimism with beaming optimism. Jack slowly becomes fond of his newfound friend, feeling the ice thaw and begin to melt, the hope for a shining light at the end of his dark tunnel growing brighter. Perhaps Silvio is what he's needed all along. But once Jack discovers Silvio's appalling secret, it's then that he realizes that Silvio may have been involved in Lola's death.
