Everyone was left hysterical after the government had guided the country to its own destruction. Amidst the crumbling order, Avery's parents knew something that other's didn't. 
    A gifted child and a budding psycho-Avery Lavigne stood alone, hidden from the world. She was a mystery even to those closest to her-an exquisite asset, kept in secrecy since a fateful incident in her parents' workplace. But Avery knew one thing for sure: her mother wasn't dead. She was out there, taken, and Avery was done waiting for answers.
    The Purge was supposed to last 12 hours. It should have been over. But something had gone horribly wrong. As the city spirals further into terror and twisted propaganda spreads like wildfire, questions pile up and suspicion is thick in the air. She's ready to find the truth behind the chaos, to uncover who stole her mother, and to expose what the government is hiding before it's too late. This time, she's not stopping until she has the answers-no matter who gets in her way.

    The screen on my mom's tab flickered and changed to "NATIONAL EMERGENCY" announcement. All devices would now broadcast the warning, and that was five minutes before 7pm. 
    [SYSTEM NOTICE]: THIS IS NOT A TEST. THIS IS YOUR EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM ANNOUNCING THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE ANNUAL PURGE SANCTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT. WEAPONS OF CLASS 4 AND LOWER HAVE BEEN AUTHORIZED FOR USE DURING THE PURGE. ALL OTHER WEAPONS ARE RESTRICTED. GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OF RANKING 10 HAVE BEEN GRANTED IMMUNITY FROM THE PURGE AND SHALL NOT BE HARMED. COMMENCING AT THE SIREN, ANY AND ALL CRIME, INCLUDING MURDER, WILL BE LEGAL FOR 12 CONTINOUS HOURS.
