Dreams. For as long as she can remember, Alexandra has had them. A forest of deep emerald green and vivid flowers. A night sky full of more stars than she has ever seen. A gold compass, constantly spinning, pointing nowhere. And a pair of eyes of the deepest brown, almost black. Desperate to seek the truth, Alexandra has spent most of her childhood buried in research. On her 12th birthday, she finally gives up. In exchange, she begins a life of endless, mindless repetition, accepting a life of complete boredom. A life she never wanted. But one night, Alexandra is startled awake by a different dream.
