Juliet is a twenty-something young woman living in a small apartment downtown. She works long hours at a job that hardly pays the bills, and she's the guardian of her stubborn teenage brother, Clint. People tell her she has a normal life, but she hardly feels normal. Feeling like she is afloat in a universe that she doesn't understand, Juliet has a difficult time seeing the world the way people tell her do, the way those around her do. Juliet's just trying to keep herself grounded, for Clint's sake, so that she doesn't float away into the stars. (Not a great summary, but check it out. This novel is a bit of an experiment on my part, as I am reading a lot of modernist fiction lately.)
