Jan Dean is a poet and writer-in-schools.  She's written fiction for teenagers and 8-11 year olds and scripts for children and  theatre groups.  Her poems are in over a hundred anthologies as well as in two collections ('Nearly Thirteen' - Blackie  and 'Wallpapering the Cat' - Macmillan) as well as being a slice of the bread 'Mean Fish Smile' - a Macmillan Sandwich Poets book.

She performs her poems and also runs workshops for schools, teachers, festivals, people wandering round cathedrals, visitors to exhibitions, museums and historic quaysides. she also likes writing about herself in the third person - which is a bit weird....
