I often think to myself that if I could go back ten years to give my younger self advice, the main tip I would give would be to only focus on one thing at a time. Don't invest the precious time of your youth in friendships that would only end in disaster. Don't bother with pointless hobbies that will get you nowhere in life. Don't try so hard to fit in with the other children at school or attempt to impress the teachers with useless knowledge, because after you graduate it is unlikely to see them again. Time is a precious gift and many, including myself, don't realize it until it is too late. My life from both past and present reflects that I've never known how to use time wisely. Though I'm sure that if I did give myself that advice, I would still end up in the same way that I currently am. In the famous words of George Santayana "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Therefore If I am to be more successful during the rest of my life, I must remember my past mistakes and try harder to make up for them, starting with only focusing on one thing at a time and not letting my mind wander elsewhere.
