I got my start as a young poet and playwright in Grade 6. In junior high and high school, I was fortunate to be embraced by the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild and Saskatoon's 25th Street Theatre. They connected me with mentors, editors, dramaturges, publishing opportunities, stagings, and awards, for which I will always be grateful.

After high school, I travelled through Central America and returned to study at the University of Winnipeg, where I published in the occasional literary magazine or anthology, represented Canada at an international young playwright's festival in Australia, and staged plays at the Winnipeg and Saskatoon Fringe Festivals.

After receiving my degree, I moved to Edmonton where I became a professional writer in the video game industry, writing interactive genre fiction within the Dungeons and Dragons and Star Wars settings, among others. I continued to stage plays at various festivals, write poetry, started a fantasy novel, and began designing board and card games which won a variety of awards and saw some publication.

I took a hiatus from creative writing after leaving the games industry, although I continued as a professional writer, editor, and communicator. With the COVID-19 pandemic, I'm revisiting these steps of my creative journey, publishing past content on Wattpad, and maybe even writing something new. ;o)
