It’s official - Wattpad has deleted all DMs and blocked the capability.
          
          I understand they’ve done so to try and improve security. But I hope they know just how heartbroken I am to lose this connection to all of you. And just how devastated I am to lose all of the kind words of support, encouragement, and impact that I routinely went back and re-read on rough days. 
          
          So PLEASE keep posting here on the community wall and in the book comments. And don’t ever hesitate to email me at thesehallowedroses@gmail.com.

          Boy oh boy did I log in to see a SWARM of messages (RIP DMs) about the missing Friday chapter.
          
          And you’re right. I’m so sorry I couldn’t warn you. Personal circumstances have prevented me from carrying out my authority duties. But I’m home now, and will make my two week hiatus worth it.
          
          Stay with me here. Just a couple more days and you will be rewarded for your patience <3

wheres the new chapter?

No more DMs
          
          As most of you have seen, Wattpad is disabling the DM functions.
          
           I find this decision to be terribly disappointing. In their reasoning, Wattpad cites being a platform primarily for reading, not messaging. And that DMs are applicable only to a small percentage of users. 
          
          I call bull.
          
          DMs are a critical way for authors to stay connected to their readers. To get feedback and share ideas. And while yes, it may primarily be authors using the DMs (and there are FAR fewer authors than readers), the authors are what keep this app alive. After all, without content there are no readers to begin with. So why in the world take away such an impactful, useful feature? 
          
          Such a strange and left-field business choice, in my experience, indicates a possibility that the company is changing internally. I have no idea what’s going on with Wattpad, but with the recent glitches and deactivation of certain features it would not surprise me if Wattpad was preparing to sell their company, be acquired, shut down, or something else like that.
          
          My suggestion to authors - SAVE YOUR WORK ELSEWHERE. 
          
          Something’s going on here, and I don’t like it. Protect your work.

Good afternoon, I just wanted to reach out really quickly and say that I absolutely adore your works. They flow so nicely, the language is deep and impactful and the way that you handle the characters you work with, showing unseen and seemingly impossible sides to them, is amazing. I also wanted to say that i wish you luck in getting your masters. I, for sure, would love to see and read a published work of yours. Thank you so much for such good reads.
