What is Urban Fantasy?
In general terms Urban Fantasy is a sub-genre of Fantasy that deals with modern day settings. It can be seen as an Umbrella for Vampire, Werewolf and Paranormal stories with such a setting that don't better fit in the Horror genre.
Okay, so what is the Urban Fantasy Community?
We exist for fans of non-romance primary Urban Fantasy. Non-romance primary includes books like The Dresden Files and The October Daye books but not The Twilight Saga or The Wolves of Mercy Falls.
Why? Because you only have to look at the Vampire, Werewolf and Paranormal clubs to see any number of threads complaining about how hard it is to find non-romance stories in those genres.
But hard words butter no parsnips so we decided that instead of complaining about other people's tastes we'd create this community to help connect readers and writers.
So no romance?
Not exactly. A romantic sub-plot is fine but it shouldn't be the main thrust of the story.
