@Maeve_Powell That was the original plan, but things ended up being delayed! We definitely plan to host more contests in the future - we're hoping to host a bigger contest, seeing if there's more interest than there was in our monthly contests. We didn't have a very consistent number of people submitting, we actually skipped one month because of that. We're hoping to be back soon and we appreciate your patience and interest! (:

Hello, everyone! Taking a page from WattpadPoetry's Versification, we were curious if anyone would be interested in a daily prompt contest separate from the In The Trees Awards - where we would have a grand prize winner at the end of the month from all the poetry they submitted. Obviously, we have a small team so it would take some time to go through all of the poems and we'd have to keep you all waiting longer - but maybe a little suspense is a good thing. 
          
          If this is something you're into, please let us know so we can see how much interest there is. If enough people seem into it, we'll wait till we reach our 100 follower mark and then start working on the contest.

@rfloetry I really love that idea! One of the bones I had to pick with Versification was also when they were announcing winners, not sure about you but waiting all that time - and then having them drop a few winners at a time instead of all together - I was losing my sanity.  So for our spin on things, we will definitely drop the winners all together. 
            We definitely want it to be more efficient and flexible.

@poetreehouse Hi @-bites! :D Yeah, I think weekly would be a good start just to see how it goes, and if it's successful, you can always decide to change it to daily in the future, or stick with weekly. But having to scramble to write something for 30 prompts is a challenge! XD You can also release several prompts for that week, but people should only pick/submit one prompt for that week? This way people have more options, but don't necessarily have to tackle every prompt.

Hi all! It's the 13th of the month, and we haven't received any submission for the contest. We aren't expecting to reach the number needed to continue the contest, so for this reason we are debating having a temporary hiatus, just due to the lack of interest. We will see how the rest of the month goes!
