Josie's POV: I curse under my breath as I found myself walking through the streets of Roanoke once again. What is this Return Of The Mummy? This time travel stuff is really starting to become a pain in the ass. Not only that, but I still haven't told Hope and Lizzie about what I did yet because of everything going on, and they're beginning to give me a headache.
"Last chance, Hope", Lizzie said, causing me to struggle not to roll my eyes. She said that twenty-six chances ago! "If you didn't start that fire to keep us from going, then why were you so mean to me after? I'll tell you why, because you were guilty", she challenged, causing me to sigh in annoyance. This is what I get for waking up in the morning.
"Girls", Dad hissed. "Quiet back there, please", he whispered.
"Seriously. I wasn't mean to you. You were mean to me", Hope defended.
"Because you were telling people about my episode", Lizzie muttered.
"Your what", Hope frowned, annoying Lizzie more as I looked up at the sky, begging for the world to somehow swallow me up.
"My episode", Lizzie exclaimed. "The one I had when our trip got cancelled", she said. "You told everyone that I was witch bipolar", she accused.
"I would never do that", Hope gawked.
"Guys, seriously, what is the point of even talking-"
"Just drop the act. I had my first...occurrence, my mom took me away to get help, and you decided to use it against me", Lizzie glared as something quickly caught my eyes. Oh thank the Gods.
"Guys", I said, trying to get their attention.
"I didn't even know. I swear, I would never do that", Hope told her honestly, and I could've swore that I even her voice crack. I screw up one time, and the universe found a way for it to come back and bite me not once, but twice. Lucky me...
"Guys", I called, watching the monster get closer.
"What", they exclaimed, annoyed at being interrupted.
"There's a mummy on Main Street", I pointed out before silently adding again in my mind.
I glared at the mummy in annoyance. Not only do I have a splitting headache, but I still to confess my feelings once again to Hope tonight, and I'm really not in the mood to be fighting some ancient toilet paper freak, and his maget minions.
"So, what, do we, like, rush it", Lizzie asked.
"It's seven feet tall. We hold our ground until it's close enough to attack", he said, causing me to roll my eyes. Like I want to add listening to Lizzie complain about bug vomiting again.
"Ignalusa", I whispered, blowing fire at the mummy as it denigrated into ash. Walking forward, I picked up the green beetle before siphoning the magic out of it, preventing the mummy from coming back. Turning back around, I ignored the shock looks on their faces as I sighed in annoyance. "Can we leave now", I asked dad before beginning my walk back toward the car without waiting for an response. "Worse spring break ever", I muttered under my breath.
