There she is, drowned in her oversized hoodie looking dead as ever.

It's currently 2 am, yet she couldn't seem to bring herself to sleep. She's exhausted, school has given her enough. But why can't she fall to the slumber she desired? Her mind seems to be somewhere else.

"ugh, close your fucking eyes Kim Saeron, " she mentally scolded herself, turning and throwing her body around the bed. It felt uncomfortable, which is weird knowing how much she loves the squishy surface.

Out of the blue, a face flashed through her mind like lightning. It was so quick, yet she managed to visualize who it was.

Jisung.

"what the fuck?" the girl thought to herself.  Realizing she's got out of her mind, Saeron grabbed the small pillow next to her, hitting her head with it. Not too hard to the point it hurts.

The clock ticking was all she can hear, her dark room filled with silence. An idea popped in her head as she stood up, grabbing a thick coat. It's snowing outside, so why not have a quick midnight stroll? She needed a mind-relief.

Quietly, she opened her door, trying her best to not wake her mom up. She successfully reached her front door, slipping on her shoes then proceeded to step outside.

Just like any other day, she walked by the side of the Han River. Yeah, 2 am strolls seems to be a routine for her now. A stressful day had passed, which gave her some sense of relief. However the girl knew, a tomorrow is waiting for her arrival.

The cold night breeze gave her warmth. Ironic, but that's what's keeping her alive. The soothing sound of water hitting it's shore, the wind hitting her face. The refreshing scent of nature has kept her sane.

Hands inside her coat pockets, she looked down on her feet, kicking the small rocks that were in her way. Ever so often, the girl looked beyond the river. It made her happy, it made her feel free.

She often wonders where the river would end. How refreshing would it be to flow with the waters. Just the sound of it made her feel at ease.

No one was around, just the street lights that brightened up the sidewalk. It shone right down, as if it was leading her way.

Yet her steps came to a halt when she saw a familiar figure, leaning his elbows on the railing, enjoying the night sky. He looked like he was enjoying the scene, identical to what she felt about it.

Saeron squinted her eyes, her vision blurry from the smoke coming out of her mouth as she exhaled the winter air. As her sight gave her enough to look clearly, she was beyond surprised to see him here. She blinked her eyes a few times.

There's no way that's him. Why is he here? Kim Saeron wake the fuck up, you're just seeing things.

The girl rubbed her eyes, just in case if she's actually seeing things. She opened it, still to be seen by his figure. Yeah no, absolutely not a dream.

Shaking her thoughts, she slowly approached him, not wanting to disturb his moment. Just as she got closer, her steps was fond to hear by the boy. He turned his head towards the sound, only to be met by her figure.

Likewise, Jisung was not expecting to see anyone at this hour. Especially her. His eyebrows clashed together, as the girl stepped closer.

The two only stood, staring at each other in confusion. Until one broke the silence.

"What are you doing here?" Jisung asked, his baffled tone was quickly replaced by a cold one.
"I should ask the same," she simply said. "I can do whatever I want." he bluntly declared.

His black hair was covering his eyes, the girl wasn't even sure if he could see through it. His hands were hidden in his black-coat pockets, with a bland look stoned as he shifted his gaze back to the river.

"Geez okay sir, no need to be all frigid."
"What are you even doing here at this hour?"
"I couldn't sleep, so I figured I'd go for a walk . Why are you here?"

Jisung didn't say anything. In return, he only spared a glare. His stoned expression still pasted on that beautiful face of his.

Silence took over, the cold air lingered both of them as they stood in the middle of the dim sidewalk. On the other hand, Saeron waited for his answer in complete silence.

"Hello?? I'm talking to you" the girl waved her hand by the side of his face, trying to gain his attention. Jisung found her hands disturbing, moving his head to the side to avoid it. "None of your business."

Her face fell into a frown, placing her hands back down to the sides of her own small figure. She sighed, yet she managed to speak up.

"You should head home, it's getting pretty late," her soft and timid voice soothed out.
"Likewise."
"Seriously, why are you here tho- well not that I'm forbidding- but you know it's just weird seeing you here-"

She fiddled her tiny hands as she chattered. Her eyes slowly went up, coming to a pause when it landed on his, already staring right back at her. Realizing how annoying she sounded, she pursed her lips together, mouthing a 'sorry'.

Jisung let out an irritated sigh, "Just go home."  The girl frown for the second time. She grabbed her phone, unlocking it to look at the time.

3.10 am.

Already?

She wondered why time went by so quickly, taking it as a cue for her to head back home. She shoved her phone back into her pocket, looking down at her feet. "Yeah guess I should."

Saeron turned her heels, about to stride her way back. She looked back at him with her puffy face and red nose due to the cold.

"See you, Ji. Don't stay up for too long, your parents might be looking for you," with that she left him with a warm smile.

Jisung stared at her petite figure getting smaller and smaller as she had gotten far. Eventually losing her around the corner.

He scoffed, "My parents are never looking for me." He whispered to himself, sad just thinking about it.

He glanced at the beautiful, calming scenery in front of him, before walking the opposite way she went.
