"Something Killed my Dog"

Hi..Um..my name is Amanda..I've not posted on this blog before, but I've perused this spot for a while, and I've seen the things that people are talking about, and I understand now. So.. I'm going to tell my story...I'm sorry if it's not written well, I'm not a great story teller, and I'm still grieving.

So, a couple weeks ago, everything was fine. I've lived in Utah for a year or two now. Just me and my dog Scout living in a house I was renting out. Scout was a Shetland Sheepdog, and he was the coolest guy. I'd had him since I was little and he was always there for me. I'd never had to leave him with a pet sitter, as he was always well behaved, even by himself. Now, usually he wasn't left alone, but I had to start working a 9-5 job once I moved so I could pay the rent. Every day when I would come home, he would be patiently waiting for me to walk in and greet him. Then I would spend the rest of my day with him. And that was that. Everything was fine...
But, on the weekend, late at night, I had let Scout out in the back to go potty. I've never had an animal do those strange staring spells before, and I personally don't know where I stand when it comes to the paranormal, but, after I let Scout outside, he sniffed along the ground and then it seemed like something caught his eye, way back in the woods. He was just...staring. Not moving. Not blinking. When I looked where he was staring, obviously I didn't see anything. It even took me a few calls and snaps to get him to look at me, and once he did he continued sniffing around, did his business and came back inside, like normal. It was so strange...

So, on Monday, I get up, and I leave for work. Everything goes fine. I come back home..and..only half of Scout was at the door. Something attacked him. I was so distressed- I'm STILL distressed— and when I went through my house, I saw that the sliding door to our backyard had been completely broken. Smashed- there was broken glass and blood everywhere. My poor baby- I still don't know what happened. I don't have security cameras, as I felt I didn't need to, that neighborhood was pretty safe, so I have no clue WHAT broke into my house and killed my dog- my neighbors were also at work when this happened. I've heard talk of Skinwalkers on this blog before..I didn't think they were real but I'm not so sure now. I've moved into a different part of Utah. I'm thinking about moving back with my parents..can anyone help me? Am I in danger? What should I do?
