Part 17 - Protective Godfather

* Hadrian's POV *
Can I never get any peace? Just as the Malfoy's left my monsters lead over James and Lily. "Hey Hadrian, you going to introduce us to your friend?", Lily asked clearly ignoring Sirius who was calming down his eyes, luckily Tom was calm but still had his arm loosely around my waist. "No, I don't really want to", I replied when Albus decided to speak up "he's Tom Riddle, the schools vampire". Lily gasped "Hadrian come here it's not safe around Vampire's!"she tried to pull me to her obviously failing since Tom had his arm around my waist and I had my tail wrapped around his thigh.

"Hadrian Potter! Stop this nonsense and step away from the manipulative Vampire", James demanded as Tom growled, I smiled as he pulled me closer but slightly behind himself. I was about to yell at James when Siri spoke "You two have no say in where my son goes, now who's this attached to you?", I completely forgot he was there and ran to hug him. Tom let go but watched Albus and Lilian move behind the two other adults, I smiled and listened as Sirius whispered to me "So? Him?" He narrowed his eyes and I laughed nervously. "Just don't kill him, I'm pretty sure you only get one mate and I don't want to be stuck with Malfoy", he laughed and I hugged him again before letting go.

"Your son!?" James yelled which only resulted in a growl from Sirius, I walked back over to Tom as Sirius came in front of us both. "He is as good as! What have you ever done for him?", James looked taken a back slightly and everyone looked to me "he's more of a father to me than you ever will be" I said glaring at him. James started yelling again "After everything I've given you, you go against the family!", he stepped forward but instantly stepped back when Sirius growled warning him.

"No wonder everyone hates you! You are nothing but a huge disappointment to me and the whole Potter line! Of course I already have two perfect children, that's why I NEVER LOVED YOU!", he exploded. I know I should have been upset or felt something but I couldn't bring myself to care. I had almost expected this and had already moved on but I did decide they weren't family so it was time to let them go.

I wrapped myself in Tom's arms and flattened my neko ears, to wait for James to finish. I looked to the group, Albus and Lilian were smirking but Lily looked torn, suddenly Sirius ran forward and punched James who fell to the ground. They began arguing again even though James was still on the floor, people had began to gather and were watching the events unfold.

I just hugged Tom and leaned against him, taking comfort in being close, he ran his hand through my hair and I purred leaning against him.

* Sirius's POV *
I continued to yell at James who thought it was acceptable to yell at Hadrian. He clearly chose the twins over him and had no good excuse for it, but now that they know Hadrian had power they were trying to pull him back into liking them. I wasn't going to let this happen, I know all about Dumbledore's plans and the compulsions however I also knew that James wasn't part of it. He wasn't being made to say anything and he has no blocks or compulsions unlike Lily, so these were his thoughts and I for one wasn't going to stand for it.

He stopped talking and I thought that maybe I had gotten through to him in some way, maybe the friend I once knew was in there but no. I turned to see what he was looking at and saw my cub curled into that boys arms, he was a vampire and I had agreed to not harming him but he didn't know that. I would make sure he didn't hurt my cub but right now he looked happy enough with the vampire, so I turned my attention back to James. He was still staring and looked to be growing his rage which made me smirk, his attention snapped back to me. "Your not going to stop them? He's a vampire you know!" I smiled of course I knew he didn't hide it particularly well but that didn't matter "And?", James looked at me like I had lost my mind.

"He's dangerous!", there is where I draw the line, sure Vampires are dangerous but seriously he's a child and is clearly not hurting my cub. "Yeah well so am I so stay away from MY son", I used my Grim eyes to flash them black and smiled when James stood up and walked away with his 'perfect family'.

"Come on you two! I've got a surprise" I said with a wink as they held onto my arms. We apperated away from the train station.
