Part 4 - The Letters

The Potter family invited some friends over and their kids so that they could all receive their letters together. They had all been friends for years and in turn their kids had all gotten close to one another. They attempted to make Hadrian stay in his room since they assumed that he wasn't going to get one but when the kids asked to see him they had to let him out.

*Hadrian's PoV*
I was let out of my room which was strange since Lily and James hated me even more now that I had a creature inheritance. I have no idea why since I can't be a squib anymore but I couldn't even convince myself to care. When I walked down into the living room I was squished into a hug from the Weasley twins, Fred and George. I smiled for the first time in a while without Sirius, these guys have always treated me like their brother. They are 2 years older than me but always stopped Ron and the twins from picking on me when they could help it.

"Hey guys how are you?" I asked while smiling and being pulled into another hug from Luna and Neville.

"We're good we heard you had a creature Inheritance", Fred and George said in turn like usual. I laughed and told them I was good and started to explain about my neko inheritance to them as well as Neville and Luna.

After I finished explaining everything, their attention was stolen by Albus who was throwing a fit about the attention I had around my inheritance. "How come the freak gets an inheritance and we don't! We're more powerful anyway!", he screamed at the top of his lungs while I heard George, Fred and Neville try not to laugh. 

I looked over to Luna who smiles and patted my ears, I purred slightly "I came into an inheritance as well", she whispered in an airy tone as everyone was focused on the git throwing a tantrum. 

"Really? What did you get?" I asked and was really interested since I didn't see much of a difference. She was beautiful like always, but I didn't see any changes. "Yeah I'm a seer, so I don't get much of an appearance change. But I get to see glimpses of events in the future". Now that was cool, I asked some questions and she replied before we were interrupted by a tapping at the window.

"It's time!", Miss Weasley squealed as she opened the window and 5 owls flew in the window with letters. One flew to Luna and landed on her shoulder, one flew to Ron and landed on his head, one flew to Ginny and threw the letter at her before leaving, one flew to Neville and gave him the letter before following Luna's owl out the window and one flew to me. Everyone was staring as I opened it and talked with the twins, Luna and Neville about the new school year. I couldn't help but feel increasingly smug as whispers echoed around the room and Dumbledore looked so angry. He was trying to explain how I was still less powerful and it looked like others were believing it more than others.

Everyone seemed to come to their senses and started asking questions, well more like yelling at one another.

"I thought he was a squib?"

"What happened?"

"He has almost no magic, then how does he have an inheritance?"

And more questions kept flowing whilst Sirius walked over to the group of friends. "I'm so proud cub", he said while hugging me. I smiled wider and whispered in his ear "can I show everyone a secret?", he looked confused but nodded and got everyone's attention.

Once everyone was looking at me I smiled and began talking. "I know that everyone thinks that I have little magic and that my core isn't strong enough to have enough energy needed to be a wizard. But for as long as I can remember I've been able to do things. And I have been hiding it from everyone who could use it against me, now that I know how to control it and now that I have learnt a few spells from the library books I read. I can show you all".

"We don't believe you freak", Albus and Lillian yelled at the same time. I smirked and relaxed the shield hiding my core.

Everyone's eye opened wider as my core expanded and was at least 3x stronger than the twins. The twins ignored me and started whining which made me laugh while the rest of the potters were left scowling. The twins crushed me back into a hug with Luna and Neville jumping in.

~~ A few days later ~~

I walked down Diagon ally for the first time with Sirius holding by hand, we were shopping for my school supplies since Lily and James refused to take me and said I could go on my own. We first went to Olivander's to get a wand, when we walked in Olivander welcomed us and found wands for me to try. After around an hour he sighed and I felt upset was there even a wand for me? He then smiled and ran into the back, when he returned he held out a wand and explained that it was 11 inches long, made of holly and had a Phoenix feather at its core. I tried it and green sparks flew out of the end, this was the one it felt better than the others and I feel more powerful.

"Curious", I looked up at him with a confused expression and he explained. "It's curious that you are destined for this wand, I haven't been able to find someone with a connection to this wand or it's brother wand. But today you have taken this wand and another has taken the brother wand".

I smiled and thanked Olivander, Sirius paid and we left to collect more school supplies. After a few hours we had got everything but a pet, we walked into the shop and looked around until I walked past a cadge and heard a faint voice. I turned to look and found a black snake with red eyes, but I could understand her?

Snake ~Stupid humans, prodding and poking at me, should have bite them or let them gaze at my beautiful eye's of Death ~
Hadrian ~Hello little one, do you have a name?~
Snake ~ a speaker, what's your name young hatchling?~
Hadrian ~ My name is Hadrian~
Snake ~My name is Orcus~
Hadrian ~ Latin for death / underworld I like it, would you allow me to take you home friend?~
Orcus ~of course hatching ~

Sirius returned with an owl named Hedwig so that I can talk to him whilst at school. I asked him about Orcus and he smiled as we left with the two new companions. Orcus around my neck and Hedwig on my shoulder.
