idk why i got into a whole thing about being in the closet and being outed by someone else, i just felt like i'd bring a bit more serious topics into this??
i just want to make people aware that outing someone, whether its on accident, or on purpose, isn't okay. you dont know the problems that could occur if you outed someone of their sexuality or gender identity.
this christmas i was almost outed by my older brother. it was an accident, it was only a joke, and my dad (who i'm not out to) didn't hear it luckily, but idk what would've happened if he had been in the room when my brother had said it. if you didnt know, i currently am using the label omnisexual (which might change as im still finding myself; I've been questioning if i'm actually lesbian or not, as well) and my mom and siblings know, but my dad does not. and he is homophobic+transphobic and im scared to come out to him, so it was a very nerve-racking moment for me just to hear my brother mention something about me being gay in the same household as my dad was in. my brother said sorry immediately, but it only slipped because we occasionally make jokes about this when my dad is not around, so i sort of understood where the slip up came from
i just wanted to say that outing someone is serious and please dont do it!! sorry for going on that little rant, i just wanted to get that off of my chest and that i thought it was relevant.
