As the two went to Route One, they were greeted by two hyperactive Totodiles. They wanted to join Ash and Serena on their journey. Ash and Serena caught one each, and proceeded on their journey. They found a person willing to trade away a Delta Dwebble Cake Form for a Totodile. Serena really wanted the Dwebble and was willing to trade away her Totodile. Ash then found fished up a few Magikarp and suddenly, a shiny one appeared!! As Ash fished it out, Serena thought it had COVID then screamed and hid behind Ash. Ash threw a Pokeball at it, and got it quite easily. It knew the moves Splash and Hydro Pump. Ash then went towards Midna Town in hope of going to the Pokemon School to find the Pokemon Trainer Nora. Ash spoke to the teacher of the school, and she said that she was in the Midna Mine.
Ash went into the mine and found Nora training her Celebi to use Tesseract on a few fossils to look at them. Nora failed, and Ash asked her if she was Nora. She was, in fact. Ash evolved his Charmander and Squirtle into Charmeleon and Wartortle. Ash encountered a Shiny Drilbur, and once again, easily caught it.
