chapter 1

(y/n) pov

it was a normal day at our little house in the mountains, i was making dinner with my little sister

me and her are the closest i would say but all of my siblings and my parents loved me very much and i loved them too

one of my brothers always says i'm the one who holds togheter the whole family

i took a few plates to bring them to the table when i heard a scream

what was that

i was alarmed

it had already gotten pretty dark since it's winter

another scream- no, not just one

my siblings..

i dropped the plates and ran towards where i heard the screams

'(Y/N)!, SHOKO! RUN AND HIDE! PLEASE!' i heard my mother yell as soon as she saw me

she was on the floor

holding one of my younger brothers

hikari..mom..

they were both covered in blood

i reached out to them

'mom what happened!? is hikari okay?! what about you!?' i asked concerned

she slapped my hand away 'HIDE (Y/N)! TAKE SHOKO AND HIDE! dont worry about us we can't be saved- i'm sorry'

'mom-' i said terrified

her eyes closed slowly 'i love you... (y/n)'

'MOM!!' i yelled

then i heard a weird sound- it sounded awful and hurt in my ears

i ran back to the kitchen where i saw my little sister with a terrified expression

i picked her up and continued running to my room

i have to get there

when we finally got to my room i ran to my closet and hid behind it's doors with shoko in my arms

my sister started crying

i put a shaky hand over her mouth 'sshh, we have to be quiet'

she wimpered

i smelled something disgusting like rotten food and there was also the smell of .... blood

i heard footsteps

i glimsed through a small gap in the closet door to see what it was

a creature

a disgusting creature

a demon

it searched through my room

i was trying to breathe as silently as possible

i could feel my sisters small body shaking in my arms

i myself am shaking

i'm scared, terrified

the demon made another sound that made me shudder

the footsteps went farther away and the smell fainted

my heart was beating rapidly

can we come out? is it save now?

i decided that it would be best to stay in here for awhile to calm down

'hey shoko, are you alright?' i whispered

no response

i looked at her closely

her eyes are closed- but she's still breathing

she might've passed out because of the shock

i smiled weakly 'shoko..' my eyes got teary but i blinked it away

i sat in the silent darkness for a long time before my eyes shut themselves and i fell asleep
