So, you talked about your life. Rena listened quietly, keeping her hands in her lap. It was nice having someone to talk to. "But, yeah. That's all about me... I'm sure you know the rest." You said, shrugging. Rena nodded. "I-I'm sorry. I wish there was something I could do to help." She responded, suddenly perking up a little bit. She grabbed her clipboard, scribbling something down.

You didn't ask what Rena was doing. "I know you don't know me very well, let alone trust me, b-but I want to help you. I'll do what I can to make things better for you." She said, looking over at you. You were surprised. Rena was actually going to help you? "I... thank you." You walked over and hugged her.

Rena froze. It'd been a while since she'd been hugged. Hesitantly, she hugged you back. "I'll do my best. You're a good person. You don't deserve any of this." It was clear that even if she worked for Keigo, she didn't agree with him. She seemed like a nice person. You wondered how she had gotten sucked into all of this.

You broke away, stepping back to give Rena space. You sat back down. "What about you? What's your story?" You asked, tilting your head to the side. She looked away. "It's kind of boring. I'm nobody, really." She answered. She meant that. Rena was a nobody. "Come on. Just tell me a little bit?" You inquired, leaning forward a little in your seat. Rena looked down. "Yeah, okay. Just a little..." She trailed off.

Rena had always been different. Not in the sense that she was odd outwardly. The issue came with her quirk. She had always been considered dangerous. She could create hallucinations. Visual or auditory. Although, after an incident when she was younger, she vowed to never use her quirk again. She went through school seen as a quirkless loser. But, she ignored the bullying. She kept her grades up throughout high school and majored in business in college, even though she wanted to become a teacher.

Once Rena graduated, it was hard to find a job. Until Keigo approached her. He offered her a job with reasonable pay. It was an offer she couldn't refuse. The job was fine at first. Keigo was nice. She worked there for a few years without problems. But then Keigo started to get manipulative. Forcing Rena to keep things secret and blackmail people. After he got obsessed with you, things only got worse.

"Uhm, sorry... I-I was rambling." Rena said, looking down at the floor. You tilted your head to the side. "No, it's okay. It's interesting. If you don't mind me asking, what happened that made you not want to use your quirk...?" You asked, intrigued. Rena messed with her hands a little. "I-I've never really talked about it before... so sorry if I explain it weird." She said, keeping her gaze down.

When Rena was little, her father died in a car accident. It had destroyed her mother. Rena's mom sank into extreme depression, staying locked away in her room. Rena had only been trying to help. She used her quirk to make her mom think that her father was still alive. That he was okay. It only made Rena's mom worse. It drove her to insanity. To the point where she took her own life. After that, Rena swore to never use her quirk again.

Rena teared up. "Sorry... I probably ruined the mood." She said, still staring down her hands. You gently put your hand on her shoulder. "It's okay. I'm sorry that happened." You comforted, feeling bad. She smiled. "Thank you..." She trailed off. You moved to sit next to her, rubbing her back.

Rena leaned into your touch a little. She'd mostly been on her own since she was little, so she was pretty touch-starved. "I'm going to do my best to help you. I promise." She said. And she meant it. She was going to help you. "Just you trying means a lot to me." You responded, pulling Rena into a side hug. She smiled softly. Your touch was nice.

"Thank you for being so nice to me. And for listening..." Rena looked up at you. She seemed true and genuine. Like she hadn't had someone to talk to for a long time. "It's not like I have much better to do, being locked down here." You muttered, looking away. Rena frowned. "I'll try and get Keigo to let you go places. I'm sorry you have to be stuck down here." She said, leaning into your side.

You didn't think much of how close Rena was. You figured she just needed it. You were happy to provide help. That's what you'd always wanted to do. Help people. Even if it was just Rena, at least you'd made a difference. She smiled softly. She liked being close to you. It made her feel happy and safe. You were kind to her. You listened. She liked that. "I-I'm sorry if I'm too close... I'm not good with things like this." She admitted, blushing a little from embarrassment.

You smiled softly. "No, it's okay. I'm not good with stuff like that, either." You replied, laughing slightly. Rena laughed along with you. She couldn't remember the last time she laughed. She missed laughing. She missed feeling this happy. She missed having friends. Having people to be close to.

"C-Can we be friends?" Rena asked, looking up at you. She seemed so kind and innocent. You nodded. "Of course. I'd love to be friends." You smiled, holding onto her. It offered some comfort. It made you feel better. It stopped all the bad thoughts. It didn't stop the guilt completely, but it helped. It really helped. Having someone who would listen. Who would stay. Who would make sure you were alright. Someone who understood.

"My little love~
I'll see you soon enough.
It was too long that I didn't have you, just watching from above.
I didn't go through all of that trouble for nothing.

I'll make you mine.
I'll make you love me and me alone.
You'll long for my touch.
You'll want me. You'll need me. I'll make sure of that."
