The soft meadow where I rest
Is filled with throns from east to west
They've grown out of the mud
And cost me drop and drop of blood
But I still sit here, day after day
I never leave, I never go away
Because among the throns blooms a flower
That I'll love forever, hour after hour
It is the prettiest white you'll ever see
You see, it means the world to me
And even if I stain its petals red
With all the blood that I have shed
It remains the purest thing
Of which angel always sing
I hope one day it will stain me too
And I  will no longer sing of black and blue
