Sometimes I want
to lay down in the forest
where no one will find me
and I want the moss
to cover my mortal body
and I want small mushrooms
to grow from my ribs
and I want birds
to build a nest on top of my skull
and I want violets
to bloom where my heart once was
and I want wild animals
to feed their pups with my flesh
and I want time
to eat away at my bones
until the wind carries me
up into the cold air
and shatters me across the fields
