"bev, did you hear that?" you asked, worry laced through your tone.
you gently pushed bev, nudging her awake. you two had just spent the night together, and ended up falling asleep while cuddling in her bed. it was now in the early hours of the morning, the sun creeping through the window.
bev yawned, peeling her eyes open. she blinked, smiling softly when she saw you sitting up next to her.
"what did you say, babe?" she yawned again, rubbing her eyes.
"i swear i heard the door open," you began. "listen."
"y/n," bev tutted, sitting up to look at you better. "my dad isn't back for another two days. don't worry."
you shifted your gaze to the floor. you wanted to believe her, but you were sure of what you heard.
"beverly! get in here," a gravelly voice bellowed from the house. all colour drained from bevs face. he was home. "now!"
"shit! climb out the window or something, y/n!" bev hissed, scrambling to get dressed and destroy any possible evidence of my presence. "go!"
i picked up my clothes, sliding them back onto my body hastily. you shoved her window open, climbing out carefully.
"beverly! i said get in here!" her dad screamed, footsteps approaching her room.
he opened the door right as you jumped from the window.

you hadn't heard from bev in two days now. you had no idea what to do; you couldn't call her in case her dad picked up, nor could you go to her house.
it was dusk, and you sat in your bedroom crying. you had no idea what would happen to you and the girl you loved.
you tried to distract yourself by reading. maybe you could lose yourself in a book.
suddenly, you heard a tapping on your bedroom window. not that invested in your book, you glanced over to see bevs face peering through at you.
you opened the window up, resting your arms on the windowsill.
"what are you doing here?" you said through a laugh. you grabbed onto bev's arms, hauling her in.
"i just needed to see you." she sighed, flopping down onto your bed.
"what's up?" you asked. "is something wrong?"
"my dad is just all up my ass," she sighed, resting her head on your lap. her soft curls sprawled out over your thighs. "i hate him so much, y/n. he's so awful."
"i know," you said, stroking bev's auburn locks. "i know. why don't you stay here for a couple nights? my parents won't mind."
"that would be perfect. thank you."
