The UNSC Victorious Protector was a Valiant-class super-heavy cruiser that tried to escape the Covenant after the Battle of Reach, but when it tried to flee through Slipspace it exploded because of the damage it took.
But some time later it is found...

Only two days after the Battle of Reach the damaged Valiant-class cruiser "UNSC Victorious Protector" can be seen, defending itself against a Covenant taskforce, but the crew knew, it was a battle that they couldnt win, so escaping was the only option...
Captain: Status report!
Crew member 1: We lost some of our missile pods and hangar bay 3 has been hit!
Captain: Hmmm... *thinking* Concentaste fire on that battlecruiser with the MACs and Archer-missiles!

Crew member 2: But what about the Corvettes?
(SDV-class Corvettes):

Captain: Fire Archer pods 1 to 50 and all other weapons at the Corvettes and fire the MACs at the Battlecruiser, now open fire!
*-MAC'S FIRING-*

The combined fire power of the MAC's and Archer-missiles disable the shields and destroy the damaged Covenant battlecruiser. The Corvettes were hit by multiple Archer's, one was destroyed while the others were were either damaged or didnt take damage because of their energy shields.
Crew member 2: Confirmed hit! Enemy CCS-class battlecruiser destroyed! Only four SDV-Corvettes are left!
The Captain smiled a little bit, but his smile quickly faded away as a crew member tapped on his shoulder.
Captain: Yes?
Crew member 3: Sir, there are two enemy CCS Battlegroups heading our way...
Knowing that his cruiser is inferior to two battlegroups he immediately knew the most logical answer to that.
