No One Can Hear Me Scream

When you're a child
Your parents tell you "If you fall and get hurt, just yell for us, and we'll be there."
It's a shame they didn't know that I had screamed from
6 feet deep
Within my self
If there's no one in the forest a fallen tree makes no sound
"Always be careful, so you don't get hurt"
Is what our parents told us
They never said that there are emotional hurts
So painful they will leave a scar on your heart
Everyone screams in pain
Just not always the kind that is heard
It's being in pain
When no one comes to help you
Some won't ever come
They feign deaf to others' howls of pain
But, have a sense of urgency
When it comes to theirs'
The worst kind of people you could ever meet
They don't help others in need
How sick and twisted is that?
They can't sympathize
Only analyzing people in trouble
Calculating if they would benefit or get a reward
For giving some sort of "aid"
Everyone has tried to help me
In all manner of ways
It's hard to call out
When your cries for help are silent
From 6 feet deep within yourself
And no one can hear your screams
