So, things were looking up, right?

Wrong. So so so wrong.

If you thought that Leo was becoming himself again and being nice and not all totally evil Andrew power hungry, you'd be right.

Until Annabeth Chase just had to be sitting on the beaches edge, crying her little heart out over something Leo could care less about.

But of course, Percy being Percy, the pair headed over to comfort the blond. Percy let go of Leo's hand, taking off his jacket as a bit of rain started falling and placing it over her shivering shoulders.

"Hey, hey. It's okay," Percy whispered soft words in her ear. "What's wrong?. . .My name is Percy Jackson, what's yours?"

"I'm. . ." Annabeth started. "I'm. . .Anna—Annabeth Chase,"

"Okay Annabeth. Are you from the Athena cabin?" Percy asked? Lifting his jacket so it covered the both of them.

"Y—yeah. How'd you know?" Annabeth asked, her voice quiet compared to the rain that had started due to its importance to the plot.

"You have the same beautiful grey eyes all her children do." Percy wiped a raindrop from her cheek, his hand lingering for a second as he felt some sort of familiarity at the touch. He shook it off and continued smiling, his voice soft like hers. "And the same blond hair,"

"Why—" Annabeth hesitated, almost as though she didn't know how to phrase her question but she continued anyway. "Why are you talking to me?"

Leo watched caribou as the interaction happened. They seemed to be fighting against his spell without realizing it, a dangerous thought. A pink cloud slowly washed over them, but after not more than a glance in Leo's direction, Percy turned how attention back to the daughter of Athena.

"There's something about you. Like I already knew you, like I had to help," Percy said, trying to place her face in his memories.

"But you've never cared before," Annabeth replied. "You and Leo Valdez walk past here everyday, and I always sit and cry here. You've never cared before, you've never even noticed,"

"Then I guess I'll just have to start paying more attention to my surroundings. You're a very hard person to ignore, you know?"

"Yeah right,"

Percy got up, extending his arm to the blond. "Come on, let's head back to. Camp. I'll walk you to the Athena cabin,"

"No!" Annabeth said quickly, a hint of fear in her voice. She calmed herself slightly, "no. It's. . .just nevermind,"

"Okay," Percy said slowly, "how about you just come with me to the posiedon cabin? We have extra room, and it's obvious you shouldn't be in the Athena cabin right now,"

"Wait, but perce," Leo interrupted. "Tonight I was gonna sleep in the Poseidon cabin, remember?"

"Sleep in bunker nine," Percy insisted. "I love you, but right now Annabeth needs help. I'll see you tomorrow, 'kay?"

Leo watched as the two walked off, trying not to fold his hands into a fist. Tomorrow, he was going to Aphrodite to fix all of this.
