Chapter 3~ Welcome Back

Kaede's POV
I couldn't even express how excited I was. We were actually going to reunite with Shuichi and the others. I couldn't wait to see them again! Me and Rantaro quickly rushed off to fetch the others and came back to see Tsumugi.

"Tsumugi!" Gonta exclaimed. "Long time no see." said Kokichi. "Yeah, I know that my sins will never be forgiven and I completely understand that. But please, just let me make it up to you guys." Tsumugi reasoned. "Gonta accepts your apology!" Everyone looked at him and nodded. "As long as you don't try anything sneaky with us again, I guess I can forgive you!" said Tenko. "Don't worry, Tsumugi! Atua forgives you!" said Angie. Everyone else agreed, even Miu and Kokichi who normally wouldn't have.

"Thank you guys so much! Now to send you all back to the real world." "What about you?" I asked. "I'm going back to where I belong." She replied. "There's no way I can return with you guys after all I did." I stared sadly at her. "Now then, all you need to do is hold hands and I shall send you back to the real world!" We all did as we asked and I happened to be holding Rantaro's hand. I couldn't help but blush a little. I guess I'm not used to people holding my hand.

"Now then, goodbye everyone!" Tsumugi clapped her hands together and with that we were transported out of the afterlife and back to the real world. As soon as the mist cleared, I instantly felt my breath return to me. It felt so good to finally breathe after being dead for so long. Everyone else began to also return to normal and adjust to their surroundings. "Wow. She wasn't joking. We're actually back!" Rantaro exclaimed. I looked around and my eyes widened.

"Kaede?" Rantaro tapped my shoulder. But I wasn't listening. There, right before my eyes stood someone who I had missed dearly. That person being, Shuichi Saihara. He looked at me with a shocked expression on his face as if he had seen a ghost. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was really him! "K...Kaede?" He stuttered. "Shuichi!" I yelled as I ran towards him and embraced him in a warm hug. I began to cry as we hugged. I could tell that Shuichi was also crying. I could feel everyone staring at us, but I didn't care. I'm finally reunited with him!

Rantaro's POV
As I stared at Kaede and Shuichi hugging, I couldn't help but feel a slight ache at my heart. It was probably just me getting used to being alive again. Once they finally pulled away from the hug, I noticed Maki and Himiko behind them. I could just imagine how shocked and happy they were to see us. Maki immediately ran to Kaito's embrace and Himiko to Tenko. It was honestly a sight to see. After it was all over, Shuichi turned to Kaede.

"But...how? How are you guys alive?" "This must be a dream. This must be my magic deceiving me. There's no way this could be real." said Himiko. "It's real alright!" said Kaede. From there she began to explain everything and left them shocked. "Tsumugi?! But why would she revive you guys?!" Himiko exclaimed. "I'm not really sure myself, but she did and we're all together again!" Kaede responded.

We spent the rest of the day chatting amongst yourselves. We had a lot to catch up on after all. This was the start of our new lives of high school students living their lives together. I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face.
