Helena
Mylo and Helena knew without a doubt - Gorilla's gang will not be missed.
They didn't have any known allegiance. On the contrary, they were despised by many and practically considered bandits.
Nevertheless, waiting around three bloody corpses is just begging for trouble.
So after Mylo and Helena finished looting the corpses of those fiends, they ran for hours, heading back to safety.
It was the middle of the day when they finally left the wilderness and reached the governorate of one of the minor lords in the wastelands.
And then they ran some more.
After ten days of living in fear, hiding in trees as their pursuers dictated their every move, Mylo and Helena ran for as long as they could by their own volition.
They did not trouble themselves with petty concerns like food or sleep deprivation.
They were celebrating their renewed freedom.
Only an hour before dusk, they decided that they had distanced themselves enough.
They found a secure location in a dense part of the forest, near a river stream, and decided to set up camp for the night.
They threw all their belongings on the ground, excited to examine today's findings.
They placed between them the three extra swords, two throwing axes, and the most exciting item they have ever had - a magic backpack.
A magic backpack, as the name suggests, can contain much more than a regular backpack.
There could be endless amounts of items inside, as long as the sum of their magical power does not outweigh the bag's magical capacity.
And since traveling young Heroes of the wastelands seldom owned any magical items to begin with, Mylo and Helena's expectations were high.
Sadly, even in death, Gorilla proved to be a disappointment.
"That's it?!" Helena exclaimed, "That's all the money they had?! It's less than what they took from us!" She said, raising her voice in anger.
Mylo held in his hands a handful of coins, mostly coppers and four silvers.
"When did they even have the time to spend it all? They were on our tail practically the whole time!"
Mylo sighed, "I think they spent all of it on this." He pulled out a bottle of expensive-looking strong ale.
Helena gaped at him.
"Those idiots!!!" Helena angrily kicked a fist-sized rock. It reached the other side of the river bank and crashed noisily against a tree trunk.
"Calm down, Helena. The magic backpack alone is worth our troubles. And look -" he pulled out a loaf of bread and five pieces of salted meat, "We don't need to go hunting today. Plus, we got our blankets back!" He smiled at her as he pulled them out.
"For fucks sake..." Helena intertwined her hands together, fighting an intense urge to shred the backpack to pieces.
"Oh, there are some apples and pears too! Wow, this bag is amazing!" Mylo continued to empty the bag's contents, finding a jar with some honey and a handful of nuts.
"We slept in trees for ten days!" She said to him through clenched teeth. "I'm sick of nuts!"
"I know, but that's how it is." He sighed, "I'll tell you what," he said while placing everything back in the bag, "you go wash up first. I'll start the fire." He handed her a blanket.
