Daddy Issues - 2

"You're not gonna hurt him, right?" I question Stefan as we leave Caroline's house. Stefan nods. "I won't" Stefan grabs my arm and in a second where in Mayor Lockwood's office.

Tyler is on the computer in his dad's office when he sees Stefan and me in the room. He tries to leave, but Stefan stops him.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, I just want to talk." Stefan assures.

"Then why did you break in?" Tyler asks, looking between me and Stefan.

"Would you have let him in otherwise?" I questioned with a raised brow.

"Tyler?" Calls Carol from below.

Tyler tries to run, but Stefan stops him and pushes him against a wall, his vampire-face out.

"Shh. Not a word." He warns as I press myself against the wall.

"Tyler? I'm leaving for the memorial." She calls out again before the door shuts close.

Stefan releases Tyler slowly.

"Maybe we're getting off on the wrong foot, here." I say when Stefan lets him go.

"What happened to Mason?" He asks us both. I shifted uncomfortably.

"Tyler there's a lot for us to talk about" I explain but he tries to run and Stefan grabs him.

"I wouldn't do that. Without a full moon, you're no match for me." Stefan warns.

Stefan sits at the edge of the desk. "Look, about Caroline, no matter what her flaws are, when push comes to shove, you're gonna want that girl on your side. She's your friend, stop being a dick to her." Stefan says, defending Caroline's actions.

"thought vampires hate werewolves." Tyler comments. I roll my eyes.

"That's some sort of leftover idea from another time. It doesn't have to be that way anymore. We go to the same school, we have the same friends. We keep the same secrets. This can work, Tyler. I mean, it's your home, it's my home too. I want this to work." Stefan says, trying to convince him.

"Come on Tyler, please" I plead with him.

Tyler's phone buzzes. We stare at each other for a moment, before Tyler slips past Stefan and answers it.

"Help, help!" Tyler yells into the phone.

I grab the phone and hang up.

"Who's number was that, hm?" He asks.

Tyler says nothing, deciding to stay quiet and Stefan very angrily tosses the phone on the desk.

"Damn it Tyler! I'm trying to save your life, can't you see that?" Stefan says as he grabs him.

"You want to be friends, great, we're friends. Will you go now?" Tyler says. I plop down on the couch and I text Caroline saying it's gonna take us a while with Tyler.

"I don't know what else to say to you Tyler. I came back to this town because I wanted a life, I wanted to exist where I could have friends and where I could build a family. I have that here, we can both have that."

"Not after you killed my uncle Mason" Stefan, already fed up, loomed over him. "You want to know what played a big part in your uncle's death?"

I shoot up from my seat and grab his arm, knowing what he was going to say. "Stefan-"

"Ariel almost died because of him, when he turned us into Sheriff Forbes, they thought she was a vampire too. Mason knew she wasn't, and yet he let them take her away, they shot her with wooden bullets more then 4 times!"

I glance at Tyler who's giving me a look of pure shock and sorrow when my phone rings, I check the caller I.D and see it's Caroline so I answer.

"Hey. Is everything okay?" I asked, sitting down away from the boys. 

"That depends, how badly do you want to keep her alive?" I shoot up from my seat making the boys look at me in confusion.

"Jules? Where's Caroline?" I demand. 

"You and your vampire friend made a mistake Ariel. I'm gonna give him a chance to fix it" I look towards Stefan who paces.

"Where is she?" Stefan asks, taking the phone. "Right here want proof?"

I close my eyes when I hear Caroline's screams of pain.

"What's happening?" Tyler yells.

"Hurt her again and you're dead." Stefan threatens. "I hurt her again and she's dead. Bring Tyler to me, the clearing by wickery falls. You have twenty minutes until she dies"

Stefan puts his phone away and looks at me and Tyler. "It's Jules. She has Caroline" Tyler and I shoot up from our seats. "What!" 

"She wants a trade. Tyler for her" He explains. "Well let's go" Tyler says, grabbing his jacket. "I'm coming," I say before Stefan puts a hand on my shoulder to stop me. 

"No, absolutely not"

"This is Caroline, we're talking about!" I yell at him. "I know, but the last time we went against a werewolf you almost died!" Stefan bellows

"But I didn't! Damon saved me!"

"If Caroline hadn't gotten there in time you would have!" I cross my arms at him. 

"I'm going and you can't stop me"
