I quickly adjust my silver butterfly mask. My hair falls in curls over my shoulders. My dress is strapless and red, long and billowy at the ends with a silver belt.
"Well aren't you looking hot" Damon mummers in my ear when he jogs up.
I giggle and slap his arm. "Thank you" I say as I layer down my dress and reach out to fix his tie.
"Do you see her?" Damon asks Stefan who stands beside me.
"Nope. You're sure you can do this?" He asks his brother as I finish with his tie.
Damon scoffs. "Who are you talking to?"
"Oh, I had the chance to kill her and I hesitated." Stefan explains to him.
Damon smirks. "Well that is the fork in the road between you and me my friend. I don't hesitate."
"You spent 145 years loving her, it could happen." I say.
Damon rolls his eyes. "I won't hesitate."
Stefan nods silently. "Okay." He says before walking off.
"Hey Ty" I greet when I found him on the dance floor with Sarah and Amy.
Tyler looks up and smiles, "Hey"
"Hey lil sis" Matt says, his voice all sluggish, as he throws an arm around me.
I make a face when I smell his breath. "You've been drinking way to much" I mutter pushing him away.
He goes back to dancing leaving me with Tyler.
"It feels like I haven't seen you in forever" I exclaim as I hug him.
"Yeah well we've both been busy" I nod in agreement and smiled at him.
"One of these days, we're going to have to clear our schedules, so we can hang out like we used to" Tyler nods with a smile.
"Yeah, I miss you criticizing my art' I scoffed playfully and punched him in the arm in offense.
"I do not criticize your work"
"Yes you do"
"Hey mind if I borrow my sister for a bit" Jeremy asked as he appeared behind us.
Tyler looks at him impressed "Sister? Wow, how does that feel coming out of your mouth?"
"Weird but a good weird" Jeremy says taking my arm. I look over at Tyler with a stern look "Stay off the booze"
"No promises" He shouts out as he walks back to Matt and Sarah.
"Now?" I question Jeremy as we walk through the crowd.
He nods, "Now"
Jeremy and I arrive to Katherines side.
"Elena." Jeremy calls out and we both remove our masks and look at the girl Katherine was talking to.
"Hey sorry, could I talk to my sister?" Jeremy asks and the girl nods, walking away.
"What is it Jeremy?" Katherine asks pretending to be Elena still.
"We have a message from Stefan." She looks surprised.
"Oh?" She questions.
"He and Damon want you to meet them at the edge of the lake by the woods. They brought the moonstone." I explain.
"And why are you their little messengers?" Katherine asks us both.
"Because they know we're not afraid of you." Jeremy replies.
Katherine hums. "Hmm, you Gilbert men, so courageous" she looks over at me.
"How's John by the way? Were they able to sew his fingers back on?"
I scowl as I watch her leave. When she walks away, Jeremy and I head in the opposite direction, texting Caroline that it was now her turn of the plan.
I gasp when an arm suddenly grabs the both of us and drags us to the side.
"What the hell is going on!" Exclaims Elena. Dammit Ric.
