Creak. The doors opened almost immediately after Jennette left, and a young man with white hair and golden eyes entered the room.

Anthanasia lost the grip on her due to the surprise of the door suddenly being opened, and almost on cue a breeze blew in the room which made her hair flutter in the wind.

The young man stood there surprised for a second and didn’t utter a word. The atmosphere in the room was stiff, until Jennette’s bubbly voice rang in the room.

“Ijekiel? You’re here already” She said cheerfully making her way into the room. She was hugging a box on her chest and handed it to Ijekiel.

“Oh, this is my fiancée, and this is my sister” Jennette chirped introducing the two.

“Greetings you highness” Ijekiel said with a formal bow.

“Uh, hello” Anthanasia said awkwardly.

Jennette and Ijekiel had a discussion while Anthanasia sat aside and continued her hair.

“My aunt had a serious accident” Jennette said solemnly.

“I head from the doctor and he said she’ll be okay” Ijekiel said calmly before glancing to Anthanasia.

'This is like the tenth time he’s looking at me'

“Ijekiel” Jennette said with an off tone that didn’t usually sound like her. Her tone was cold and gaze sharp. “My sister isn’t guilty of those crimes so don’t look at her as if she’s a criminal.”

'So is that why he’s looking at me? Hmm, it does make perfect sense'

“I didn’t think that, the princess doesn’t look like she could hurt a fly” He said with an awkward expression.

That’s how their conversation continued.

Throughout the day Anthanasia was with Jennette until biding her farewell when the sun was setting. It was almost nightfall and Anthanasia was at the balcony of the ruby palace, gazing at the stars.

She touched the ice-cold railings before putting her elbow on them. She gazed at a particular group of stars.

There was a big star in the sky, and beside it was a dull faint star and one bright big star. By each second the bright star shone brighter beside the big star, and as it grew brighter, the dull star eventually couldn’t be seen.

It was the exact play of Anthanasia’s life.

'I thought I gave up on being his beloved daughter, but why do I keep in clinging to some invisible hope.
I’m meant to be in the shadows. I don’t have a loving fiancée, nor a loving father, nor aunt, nor friends, but that doesn’t mean I should cling to an invisible hope.
I have Lily who is enough for me. But, why is it so hard to not want to have a life like Jennette'

Anthanasia felt a pain in her heart, the pain of not being loved.

“Argh!” Anthanasia clutched her chest because of the surging pain she felt.

This time it wasn’t the grief but internal pain. Her lungs ached and her insides felt like it was being torn apart. And a static light shone from her body.

Then everything became blurry and eventually turned dark.
