"Hehe. Yeah, yeah, I know... just don't let the others know about this... for their sake, we can say you did it on your own..." Fell pet Astrial on the head, blushing slightly in embarrassment as he turned away.

Meanwhile:

"Jasmine! I'm back!" PJ exclaimed, walking in. "How did things go?"

"Oh, things went wonderfully! Nothing was bad at all. The kids are all fine-!"

"Mr PJ!" Luna raced over, standing in front of him.

"Oh, hello there, Luna!" PJ smiled, kneeling down. "Did you have a-?"

"She scared Milly!" Luna growled at Jasmine, who backed away slowly.

"Wait, what?" PJ asked, looking at Jasmine.

"I uh... I wanted the other kids to meet her, so I took her into the other room... I didn't know she would panic that way... she's more shy than even Ink..." the fox woman stated, sighing.

"What?! I told you on the phone she was not ready to meet the others!"

"I was trying to help her out of her shell!"

"If that were the case, you would have listened to me!"

Milly was still under the table, pillows surrounding her and her book on one of them. But she heard the yelling outside her little safe space. Immediately, she whimpered, tears forming in her eyes.

"PJ, please, I was only trying to help!"

"Jasmine...!" PJ sighed annoyed, "Whatever... just go..." he picked Luna up, and walked over to the table.

The fox girl nodded, and walked out.

Luna looked up at PJ, and smiled slightly.

"Thank you Mr PJ!"

"No problem, Luna... now, where is your sister?"

"Down there! Under the table!"

PJ glanced under the table, surprised. "Milly? Are you okay?"

The girl nodded, but the tears falling said something else. Luna got out of PJ's hold, and walked to her sister, hugging her.

"She doesn't like yelling..." Luna said, tail curled around Milly.

"Oh, sweetie... come here... I won't yell at you... I was yelling at the lady who came in and scared you..." PJ held out his hand a bit, and Milly immediately leaned into it.

She trusted him. At least a little bit.

"Hehe... come on, Milly... want to build a proper pillow fort somewhere we can all enjoy it? Just us 3?" PJ smiled, seeing the girl nod excitedly.

"I'll get the fort set up!" Luna smirked, running out of the room.

Later:

PJ, Milly and Luna were all in the pillow fort, PJ reading Stellaluna to the two. Luna was out quickly, already asleep by page 4. She had exhausted herself with defending her sister.

Milly, on the other hand, stayed awake through the whole book. She was genuinely excited to hear PJ use different vocal tones depending on where he was in the sentence and what character was speaking.

"Heh... Milly, I'm impressed you stayed awake through the whole book....."

"U-um... I got used to.... when others read, they read in a monotone voice....... it's... it's not fun... hearing the stuttering and same tone over and over..."

"Ah, I see...." PJ smiled, "Well, luckily, I can read better than anyone you've heard."

"Hehehehe! Mr PJ!"

"Now come on. Get some rest. It's fine by me. Your mother will pick you two up soon."

"Alright... thank you Mr PJ......" Milly muttered, before falling asleep.

The next day:

PJ stood at the door, seeing everyone come in, Milly and Luna included. Milly stayed outside until it all settled though. But, that gave time for her to meet the other caretakers, one by one.

"Milly, the other caretakers will be here today." PJ smiled.

"But... I thought I would be spending time with you..." Milly whispered.

PJ picked her up, smiling gently, "I'll still be here... but, in case something happens, the other caretakers need to be on standby. They know you don't want to meet the others yet. So, they'll be rotating throughout the day..."

"O-okay, Mr PJ......" Milly muttered shyly.
