Hello, fellow Potterheads!

I am so sorry for not updating soon enough. Schoolwork has been bombarding my brain! I have been busy with school lately with this stupid English essay about the book "Fences" but am now going to make it up to you all with another one-shot. I tried to make it one of my best for you guys. This one is based in the summer before their 6th year.

Enjoy!

"Mum! Ron! Hermione's here!"

Those were the words Ron had been waiting for all summer ever since he last saw Hermione at Kings Cross. Even though it has only been a few weeks since he last saw her he couldn't help but miss everything about her. The way her smile lit up the room, her soft brown curls, her incredible laugh, her adorable expressions, even when she would shout at him, she was beautiful. Of course, he missed Harry too and wanted him to come stay at the Burrow but he always secretly wished that Hermione would find her way to the Burrow first.

His thoughts were swimming around his head when Ron found himself cleaning up his room a bit before throwing on a decent t-shirt, and sprinting down the stairs.

Hermione was sat at the kitchen table, Ginny running around the Burrow, looking for Mrs. Weasley. Hermione stared at the beautiful home, happy to be back. She loved it here, the cozy feeling and the delicious smells that wafted through the kitchen, she couldn't help but smile. She was supposed to come after the first week of the holiday but her parents took some time off to be with her a bit more and so she stayed. Hermione was happy her parents were spending time with her but couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed she couldn't see Ro- the Weasley's sooner. Fine, mostly Ron. She missed him, weirdly enough, more than Harry or anyone else. She missed his jokes, his laugh, freckles that traced a line across his cheeks, his flaming red hair, his crooked smile, and his voice. Snapping out of her wonderful thoughts, she rounded on Ginny and asked about her summer so far.

"Oh, you know. With my lunatic brother, it was alrigh- OWCH", Hermione's book was grasped in her hands after she wacked it over Ginny's head.

"Don't say that about Ron," a giggle escaping her mouth,

"He is a lunatic. Been stuck up in his room ever since we got back. He's been waiting for your enlightening presence," Ginny was dancing around Hermione in a Luna-like fashion, waving her hands around Hermione's aura.

"Shut up," Hermione smacked Ginny's hands away, blushing furiously as Ginny found her way to a seat next to Hermione. Hermione continued catching up with Ginny when she heard a rumble down the stairs. She whipped round to see her best friend, his hair all rumpled and t-shirt worn backwards. A smile played on her lips before she leaped off her seat and flung her arms around his neck. They exchanged a warm embrace, Hermione's spine sent off a shiver while Ron's ears turned bright red. Ron chuckled before deepening the hug, burying his head into Hermione's hair.

"I missed you,"  Hermione said, her head still buried into the crook between Ron's neck and shoulder.

"I missed you too," Ron smiled his crooked smile as Hermione's eyes met his, her arms still linked around his neck.

"Alright, alright, break it up." The pair jumped, realizing Ginny's presence. "What? Did you forget I was here? Honestly," The two, flushed with embarrassment, released their grip, Hermione staring down at her feet biting her lip while Ron looked confused at the ceiling, wringing his fingers. Ginny lifted herself off the chair she was lounging on with a sigh, shaking her head, and grabbed Hermione by the wrist. Ginny dragged her towards the stairs, whispering into her ear things Hermione blocked out while giving Ron one last glance. Their eyes met and broke gaze when heat took over their senses.

The girls were halfway up the stairs to Ginny's bedroom when Ginny yelled, "RON! I forgot to tell you. Mum said to get ready! We're going to the Leaky Cauldron in a bit!"

"I am ready!"

"Not wearing a backwards t-shirt and pajama trousers you're not!"

As Hermione and Ginny slipped into the bedroom giggling, Ron's eyes widened staring down at his ensemble. "Bloody hell," he mumbled under his breath. Embarrassed and crimson he leaped up to his room to change, humiliated that Hermione had seen him in this state, but smiled at the thought of her laughing.
