Lillian's Perspective:

Voldemort was dead. So were my parents. My father lost in the first half of the battle, and my mother murdered by the Dark Lord himself, though he was really aiming the curse at me. I should have been the one to die, not my mother.

Tears streamed down my face as I walked back into the Great Hall with Lindsay. I was more concerned with my losses than anything else. Holding my twin sister's hand finally gave me the comfort I needed, except something was missing.

I leaned into Lindsay, still crying.

"Fred," I whispered.

"He's over here," she said gently, and led me in his direction. My vision was blurry until we came to a stop. I looked at the form on the bed in front of me, forcing myself to clear my vision.

Fred was unconscious in what looked like a peaceful sleep. His arms lay limp next to him.

"Oh, Fred," I said, and I couldn't stop myself from sobbing.

I fell to my knees, the sadness too much to bear.

"I can't lose you too," I mumbled. "No."

Lindsay didn't cry, though I knew she wanted to. She continued to hug me, and George was holding her hand, offering the support she needed. I looked down at my hands, which were in my lap, and remembered the engagement ring on my finger. I took it off, holding it up to the light.

Just as I suspected, the word Destiny was engraved on the inside.

"We're supposed to be destiny," I whispered, slipping the ring back on my finger and falling into another round of tears.

I felt arms wrap around my shoulders. I didn't know who it was, but I felt at liberty to sob into whoever they were. I couldn't stop myself from crying. There was no way I could lose both my parents and my fiancé in one day. It couldn't happen. It shouldn't have been possible.

"He's going to be okay," Draco whispered. He was the one kneeling next to me, pulling me into him. Draco Malfoy. My brother.

I closed my hand around Fred's and continued to cry until Mr and Mrs. Weasley and Madam Pompfrey came over. I jumped up to hug Mrs. Weasley.

"Oh, my dear," she said as she hugged me, rubbing my back.

"I can't lose him too," I cried. "I can't."

"You won't," George said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Fred's a fighter, not to mention he's stubborn as hell. He won't want to go."

I could tell he was smirking a bit.

"He doesn't want to leave you," Molly assured me. "And he won't leave you by choice."

"Is there anything you can do for him? What happens if he doesn't make it?" I turned to Madam Pompfrey.

"We're going to move him to St. Mungo's so he can be cared for properly. There are a few possibilities of the outcome," she said gently. "He'll either pass away, have impaired memory, or be utterly unrecognizable. He could lose his memory forever."

I began to cry again.

George was the one to hug me this time.

"I can't leave him," I sobbed. "Not until we know what's going to happen."

"Lillian, you are to take yourself to the Burrow, bathe, eat something, and sleep. You will meet us at the hospital tomorrow. Arthur or I will send a Patronus of Fred's location," Mrs. Weasley said.
