The Forgotten Realms, Years ago

Faith's POV

"Mommy!" I yelled. "Where are you taking me?!" Mommy looked down at me, my small hand almost sliding out of her fist. "It's time for you to grow up a little!" she yelled. I had never seen Mommy so angry. "Mommy!" I yelled again. "I'm only five! Why do I need to grow up?!" Mommy stopped and pulled me onto her lap. "Oh Violet-Marie," "MY NAME IS FAITH!!" I yelled. I hate the name Violet-Marie, it's not what my real Mommy called me, before she had to go away. "My real Mommy called me Faith!" I yelled again. "Violet-Marie!" Mommy yelled, growing angry again. Her hands began glowing the bright red of evil. The last thing I saw was a flash of red, then deep, dark, scary darkness.

Aimee's POV

It would've broken my heart, if I had one, the sight of little Violet-Marie in my arms, sleeping away. I shook my head, I can't think that way, the old me is gone. This new me is better than ever. I carried Violet-Marie's little body into the center of a circle of stones. I lifted the Dark One Dagger that I had found washed up on the shores of the beach last week up into the air. "Darkness, I summon thee!" I yelled. A swirling mass of darkness swept through the air and hovered a few feet above Violet-Marie. "Do you know the priiiiccccccceeeeeee???????" a voice hissed from a cloud of darkness in the air. "Yes, I do." I responded. "My daughter is going to pay the price." The cloud of darkness laughed, a deep rumbling laugh. "You are willing to have her give up her childhood, her light, everything that makes Faith, well, Faith." it asked. "Yes, I am!" I yelled defiantly. The darkness laughed. "Very well." it said.

Third Person

The Darkness slithered down around the small, limp body of Violet-Marie and began infiltrating her system. Violet-Marie cried out as she was lifted in her air. "Don't fight it, Violet-Marie!" Aimee yelled, watching her daughter flail around in the air. Violet-Marie screamed and struggled. Aimee watched with a triumphant smile as the Darkness took hold of Violet-Marie.

Faith's POV

Darkness, all I could feel was darkness, it felt like it was squeezing my heart. I want it to go away!! So I screamed. "Hello, Faith." a voice whispered in my ear. I screamed again, the loudest scream EVER!! "GO AWAY!!!!!!" The Voice laughed. "My sweet girl, do you want to be more powerful? Maybe more powerful than your mommy?" My eyes opened in shock. "More powerful than mean mommy?" I thinked softly. "Yes." the Voice said. "Okie." I said. "I'm ready."

The Voice went into my head, my brainy place, although I thought it would go to my heart-beaty place, but it didn't. I could feel the magic inside my body, but this time it felt like a tickle, like when a feather flies over your hand. "One more thing, little one." the Voice said. "Yeah?" I thinked. "You have to pinkie swear that you will call yourself Violet-Marie for your mommy, but I'll still call you Faith, is that alright?" "Okie dokie, I pinkie swear," I thinked. "Good." the Voice said. "Good."

Aimee's POV

I watched as the darkness gently set Violet-Marie down in the center of the circle again. I looked down at the dagger in my hands, this time, instead of being blank it read, Faith Willows. I smiled and went over to Violet-Marie. "Sweetie?" I asked, placing my hand on her head gently. "Hi, Mommy." she said, rolling over. "Come on," I said. "Let's go home."

The Forest, away from prying eyes, yesterday evening

Yzma's POV

I looked over at Aimee, my oldest friend, then I looked down at the unconscious girl in her arms, my goddaughter, Violet-Marie. "Do you have it?" Aimee asked me. "Of course I do." I responded. "I always carry it with me." I lifted a pink vial out of my pocket. Aimee nodded. "This should do." she said, pointing at a cave in a rock ledge. I nodded. "Let's do this, before she wakes up."
