23| Summer Solstice

In the following month or so, bitter winter seemed to know that he was about to be replaced.

The weather did not get warmer, but became colder.

After finally getting through the coldest time, Xu Fei will also take the opportunity to soak in a hot spring. 

He don't know if it was because the snow was too thick or was blocked by some caring people, Xu Fei and Bai didn't touch each other for the rest of the winter.

Xu Fei basically stayed in the cave for the whole winter, researching how to make some handy tools. Na Gu would also go out to take a look when the snow stopped, and find some fresh food hidden in the snow. Xu Fei was too cold and refused to take a half step out of the cave except for hot springs.

He opened his wooden door and was surprised to find out it turned out to be full of green colors.

All lives seem to come alive in an instant, tall and short, thick and thin, and the trees in the mountains and forests are covered in dark or light green. 

The fragrance of plants and trees and the fragrance of flowers and fruits sent by the wind suddenly arrived in front of Xu Fei. 

Sunlight came in through the gaps in the dense leaves, unknown birds were singing on the tree heads, and a few small animals jumped over the grass from time to time.

Everything was so sudden and full of life.

Xu Fei was shocked by the sight of his eyes.

Yesterday, the sky and the earth were still white, with some dead branches and decayed leaves occasionally exposed. 

Now it was only overnight, just like changing a setting board, and the spring blossoms all at once. 

This is the magic of nature, and only nature has such power.

When Xu Fei was in a daze, Na Gu who rushed to find fresh food for him to make breakfast, came back. 

Originally, Na Gu never had breakfast.

One was a waste of food, and the other was that it was meaningless to eat alone. 

Having been with Xu Fei for a long time this time, he has also developed a habit of eating breakfast.

The transition between summer and winter is not clear, and Na Gu cannot be sure when the summer will begin. 

But in the middle of the night, he felt the temperature rise slowly, and got up to put out the fire in the kang.

Xu Fei was typically afraid of cold but not heat, and even more ignorant of temperature rise when he fell asleep.

Na Gu has lived for so many years, and naturally knows that the sudden change in temperature is a prelude to summer. 

At dawn, he went out to find food.

He didn't have much supply for the whole winter. The food in the cave was almost consumed early. Xu Fei had eaten sweet potatoes for three or four days.

Na Gu knew that Xu Fei didn't like to eat too much meat in the morning, so he picked a lot of fresh fruits for him, and there was a lot of purslane on the ground beside the cave, and the big man pulled a lot of it. 

In the summer, most of the animals that had been boiled for the winter were thin and skinny, and the meat was very dry. Na Gu chose a few more meaty animals and returned.
