the sun greets me with kisses
on my bronze tainted skin

his kisses that leave soft freckles
on my face, my neck, my body
my body, his love has burnt

from the summers he loved me naked
naked, I love him to the moon and back

gold glistens in my almond eyes
my eyes, twinkling like starlight

when we dance under the sun
the sun that paints the sky
red, orange, yellow, pink

pink he colors my cheeks
like the sweetest peach
is soon to bloom in midsomer

I recite the love poems he's written
in the twilight that falls upon me

summer's twilight fills the air with
the heat of our bodies touching
our bodies, holding on tightly
tightly, I hold him in my heart

until the morning leads him
into my arms once more
