The Ninja That Changed

Chapter 11

Warning:  Slight angst, fluff, gayness, and my headcanon.

    The group all left the warehouse and headed in separate directions, well except for Kai. He was worried about everything that may happen, and a part of eat him at his thoughts screaming go to Lloyd! Though to be honest he is unsure why. None the less he listen and proceeded to chase after the blonde.
"Lloyd, hold up!" Kai huffed.
Lloyd stops and faces Kai, a rather frightened look on his face. He didn't want to start this conflict to begin with, and he sure doesn't want to ruin his friendship with Kai. Lloyd looked to the ground as Kai got his bearings afraid to make eye contact. Kai noticed the fear in Lloyd's eyes and out of instinct he softly took a hold of Lloyd's smooth tender hand. Lloyd looked directly at Kai shocked, he was expecting the brunette to scream or shout at him. But instead he received a warm gentle smile.
"Hey, could we hangout somewhere? Just the two of us?"
Lloyd took a step back his cheeks getting warm by the second "W-what?"
Kai raised an eyebrow confused by the blondes reaction. Until seconds past by and he began to realize to what he just did.
Panic took over Kai "No no no! I-I d-d-idn't mean a date! I mean you are a beautiful person and if you- Wait no! I mean like friends hangout! Though it's just the two of us— I guess you could count it as a da—"
Lloyd slams his finger in between Kai's lips shutting him up. "Kai! I get it. Calm down."
    Kai took a deep breath "S-sorry."

    Lloyd breathed out a chuckle "It's okay," he joins hands with Kai's "and yes, we can go talk."
    Kai's amber eyes light up "Great! Come on, I know the perfect place!" He yanks Lloyd's arm as he drags Lloyd to where he wants to go.

    Jay took out a deep breath, his anxiety was eating at him. He was extremely worried about Nya. I should go check on her! Besides it's not like it's Lloyd or P.I.X.A.L going after her. I'm her boyfriend, and I should be there for her.
    With little confidence he had, he turned his body and headed back into the direction of the ware house. She shouldn't have gone far.
    Just behind him near the ally way was a group of men with tattoos wearing black vest with purple as blue designs on them. The men looked at each other and nods. They follow the lightning ninja, keeping their distance not to be specious.
    Jay makes it to an area where one of the garbage dumps had dents in them. He kept observing the area when he notices Nya sitting on the floor her head in between her knees.
    "Nya?"
    Nya looks up at him, her eyes full of betrayal.
    Jay sighs he edges closer to his girlfriend "Hey." He says softly.
   Jay sits down next to her "How are you feeling?"
   She looks away.
    "Yeah, so am I. Things just got turned upside down lately. To be honest I'm not sure who do believe."
    Nya makes eye contact with Jay "Do you believe in me?"
    Nyas voice was strained and horse. Which was odd, but he suspected it was from her letting her rage out.
    "Of course, always."
    Nya smiles "Good."
    She grabs his hand, making him face her all the way. Behind him was the same group of men. But now they were holding chains, weapons, and gags.
     Nya runs her hands through Jays hair reaching for the chains as one of the men with gag got directly behind Jay.  Jay eyes widened as Nyas turned purple.
    That's when Jays scream echoed through the he streets.

   "Omahi's Chinese restaurant?"
   "Yep, I though we could go somewhere more quiet."
    "Kai." The brunette locked eyes with the blondes emerald ones.
    "Yes?"
    Slightly blush showed on Lloyd's face as he put weight on to one side of his hips "This is a fancy restaurant, are you sure this isn't a date?" Lloyd teased.
    Kai's face turned red "N-no!"
    Lloyd laughed "I'm joking Kai! Come on, let's get a table."
    "Yeah."
   Kai couldn't help but chuckle, it was odd seeing such a sassy side to Lloyd. A part of him actually wanted to see more of it.
   The two boys sit down at the table, a familiar one; the first time Lloyd had a family dinner.  A light of the outside shining down on them. Once the were settled Lloyd put his menu to the side.
   "What did you want to talk about?"
   Kai set down his drink "Well I was just wondering how you were doing."
   The brunette rubbed the back of his neck "Look who've been gone for years and we haven't gotten the time to hangout since you got back. So.."
   "Kai I can't—"
   "I'm not talking about your time with the Oni or whatever happened. I'm talking about how you've been. How's was your training with the great devour venom? Have you and your parents connected together? Did you see cool and new things on your travels? Stuff like that."
   "Oh, well..." Lloyd trailed his eyes to the window nearest to him thinking of what to say first. Though something else grabs his attention.  His eyes widened "Uh oh."
"What? What is it?"
Kai turns his attention to the window Lloyd was looking out of. It was a group of shady men walk into a convention center one of them holding a very familiar person on his shoulder.
"I think we are going have to set this hangout for another time." Lloyd grabs Kai's hand "Let's go."

"Jezz today was entertaining." Cole rolls his neck.
    "Really? I didn't think so." Zane remarks.
    "We really need to work on your sarcasm."
Jump up kick back jump around and sp-
  Cole takes his phone out of his pocket and answers it.  "Yeah Kai, what's up?"
   "COLE!"
Cole mouths and 'ow' while Zane becomes alert.
"Kai I sense stress in your vo—"
"YEAH,YEAH,STRESS IN MY VOICE I GET IT!"
"Okay, okay, Kai calm down, what's wrong?"

Kai shut off his phone "Okay I contacted Cole..."
Lloyd hands him a neatly folded suit.
"Why are you handing me this?"
Lloyd shakes his head "We can't go all ninja on them. The place is packed with Villains. We need to blend in."
Kai mouths an 'oh' and takes the suit. He unfolds it to take a look at Lloyd's fashion sense, and by the first Spinjitzu master the suit was fancy. The suit was a purple button up with a black vest and a black skin tight dress pants. The vest had a subtle red rose pattern down the front of it that glistened in the light.
Kai was absolutely amazed how in the world did he afford this? He thought.
"Okay I'll meet you inside. Go in there and play cool okay."
     "Your going to leave me alone in room full criminals?!"
     "Your a ninja you'll be fine, and I won't be gone long. I just need to grab something. Plus there is a bathroom to change in right there and you got a scar on your face so you'll fit right in."
    Kai opened his mouth to protest, but by then Lloyd had already left.
    Kai took a deep breath "Okay, I got this."
    The brunette opens the door quietly and sneaks into the unoccupied bathroom to change. Once finished he headed down stairs and scanned his surroundings. The whole place looked so fancy for a place of criminals to hangout. The place looked covered in gold and the glass chandelier in the middle of the area screamed money. The people looked so rich with their jewelry that it was so easy to mistake them for millionaires. Though Kai tried not to get mesmerized by all of it, he had a goal, and that was to get his friend Jay back. But how? He has no idea where to begin, the place was huge! It's so easy to get lost here. Plus he couldn't go around raising suspicion by investigating the place. All he could was wait and hoped for when Zane, Cole, Lloyd, and hopefully Nya arrive that we could come up with a plan.
"Hey handsome, looking for something?" A random lady with purple hair in a very sparkly dress pops Kai's thought bubble.
"No, I'm just waiting on some—"
"He's looking for me." A female with a voice that sounds similar to Lloyd's walks up to Kai gaining his full attention.

The lady in purple scoffs as she walks away. Kai stares at her blankly.
"See I told you I wouldn't take long."
"Who are you?"
The blonde scowls at Kai "Kai it's me, Lloyd."
Kai eyes turned into the size of dinner plates "What!"
Lloyd shushes him "Keep your voice down."
"Why are you dressed like... like that?!" Kai whisperly screams.
"Everyone knows what I look like, I needed a disguise."
"You were able to get these expensive clothes! You could have just bought a mask or something."
"I didn't buy these clothes Kai, these are my parents clothing." Lloyd gestures to his and Kai's attire.
"Your dad has four arms, this suit only has two."
"My dad wore that before he was bitten, and my mom's favorite color is green. Deal with it."
"Well that explains why that dress is two sizes bigger then you."
Lloyd glares at the fire ninja.
"Sorry, sorry, I'll stop."
Lloyd relaxes a bit "Have you seen any of them?"
"No."
"Oh." Lloyd steers his eyes around the building when he notices two of the men head towards the ballroom.
"Kai."
"Yes?"
"Can you dance?"
