It's always been you

Safe

         I grabbed a horse making my way back to Sally at our home. She knew where I was going but she decided she didn't want to go.
But this time I needed her help.
I wasn't going to leave Crystal like that. I was going to break her out.
The horse runs through the field.
I was so tired of Crystal getting treated like this.
The horse stops roughly.
"Sally!" I yell her name as I hop off the horse.
I run inside seeing her painting the walls.
"Jacob what's wrong?" Sally says approaching me.
"Sally I need your help it's Crystal." I say looking at her serious.
I told her everything that I witnessed going to see Crystal. She was shocked by everything I told her.
"We have to get her out of there." Jacob says looking at me.
I look at Jacob realizing if I did this Crystal would be staying with us for awhile and I know he would go right back to her.
But she helped me one time when I was hurt. And she brought me to Jacob so I couldn't just not help her.
"I'll do it let's go." I say to Jacob.
"Thank you!" I say as we run outside to the horses.
I get on top of mine and Sally gets on hers.
We go blasting off with the horses.
The wind blasting in our faces. Within the next hour we arrived.
"Jason wait." Sally says hoping off her horse.
I hope down with her.
She gently touches my shoulder and my clothes change.
"What's this for?" I ask.
"We have to blend in." She says to me.
"Okay we have to get into the castle." I say to Sally as she puts the hood over her head.
"There's a back entrance but it might be guarded but it's our only shot." Sally says to me.
"How did you know about- nvm" I say as we run towards the back entrance.
"There's guards just wait here." Sally says to me as she approaches the two guards.
I couldn't hear anything that they were saying but they end up falling to the floor from Sallys sleeping spell.
I wave at Jacob to come on.
I run towards her.
"We have about 10 minutes before the next round of guards come by and we are caught." Sally says to me and opening the door.
"Okay." I say as we walk through the door and race through the castle hallways.
"Hey you two who are you?!" A guard says behind us.
Sally turns around and makes him fall to the floor.
"We have about 2 minutes now." Sally says hesitate.
"Come on!" I say running to crystal's door where she was locked up.
I try pushing open the door but the door was locked.
"Move aside." I say to Jacob. I hold the knob and it explodes.
"Let's go." Sally says.
"We rush downstairs and see Crystal on the floor.
"Crystal!" I say rushing over to the glass walls.
Sally approaches it and puts her hand on it.
It pushes her back.
"Sally! Are you okay?!" I say looking over at her.
"This is strong magic Jacob!!" I say panicking.
"Crystal you have to get up and help!" I say putting my hand on the glass.
I look up and see Jacob there.
I gently put my hand on the glass. I start sucking the magic into me.
Sally comes close to me and puts her hand on the glass against mine sucking the magic in her too.
"Move back Jacob!!" Sally says looking at me.
I get behind the stairs as the glass starts to shatter.
"Someone's down here!" A guard shouts.
The glass breaks down and Crystal was able to get out.
"Let's go!!" I say rushing over to Crystal and picking her up into my arms.
"Jacob this way!!" I say bursting a wall open and escaping.
I rush over and we run faster then we ever have to the horses.
Jason rushes downstairs and notices Crystal was gone.
"Find them now!!" Jason yells as we hear him shout.
"Hurry Jacob!!" Sally says trying to get us to the horses.
I look down and see Crystals eyes rolling back.
"Somethings wrong with Crystal!!" I shout.
"We can't stop! We'll find out when we get away from here!" Sally shouts back.
We finally reach the horses and we hop on.
Crystal goes behind me and she wraps her arms around me.
"Jacob!!!" Jason shouts as he starts running towards us.
"Jacob now let's go!" Sally screams running with her horse.
I start to cough up blood but I managed to push myself to have pink flames shot at Jason stopping him from going to us.
I hold on tighter to Jacob and suddenly everything went dark and after that I remembered nothing.
I woke up in a soft bed inside a home but I woke up to shouting too.
"I can't watch you fall in love with her again! But I already knew you never stopped loving her did you?" Sally shouts.
"Sally you can't just leave!" Jacob shouts.
"What future do you think you have with her?! You don't think Jason will find you two and kill you! I can't watch that Jacob!" Sally says as she starts crying.
"Sally." I say trying to calm her down.
"Stop. I'm leaving." Sally says storming out of the cottage.
I was going to go after her but I heard Crystal coughing in the room.
I rush over to Crystals room and see her puking more blood.
"Crystal!" I say rushing to her side picking her hair up.
She wipes her mouth and she starts crying.
"Jacob." I say wrapping my arms around her.
I hug her back but I felt her hearing up.
"Crystal let me go get you a wet rag you are burning up." I say rushing to the sink with a rag in my hand.
I come back and rush to her side putting the rag on her stomach.
She was breathing heavily.
"Hey it's going to be okay. Okay?" I say holding her hand.
"Jacob please don't leave." I say as tears fell down my face.
"Im not leaving you this time." I say looking into her eyes.
I gently move the blanket and put my hand under her head as I lay next to her.
"I'm not going anywhere Crystal." I say kissing her head gently.
I gently put out my pinky in front of Jacob.
"Pinky promise?" I say gently smiling.
I chuckle. "I pinky promise." Wrapping my pinky with hers.
We both drift off to sleep together in one another's arms. And that night was the most meaningful of them all.
Even for that moment I was happy.
I didn't feel like a trapped animal with Jacob. I felt free.
