someday you won't be a slave to the day;
you will be its master.

keep dreaming your dreams
no matter what society might tell you
they have power,
even if they stay within you.

keep opening up
even when the light falls and threatens to destroy
your soul, so used to the shadows cast by your walls
wait, at the very least
stay, for now
until the moment you can tear down the fortress
without fear hiding behind it.

keep waking up
even if you despise it
because the moment you stop won't be anybody's victory
at least enjoy the darkness while you're here
and maybe the daylight will eventually appeal to you.

because tonight, we will get to taste freedom once again.
